The dry season lasts in Fukuoka from November to May - this is the most favorable period for those who travel to the island for relaxation. Clear sky, bright sun, light breeze and lack of rainfall allow you to bask on the beaches and swim in the sea all day long.

The daytime air temperature during these months is about + 30 ° C, at night it drops to + 25 ° C. The sea water warms up to +28 ° C.

The following are considered the best beaches in Fukuoka:

  • Long Beach in the western part of the island is known for its longest coastline. This is where most of the hotels are located. The southern and central parts of the beach are quite crowded, but the northern one is ideal for a secluded holiday;
Long Beach is about 20 km long
  • Sun Beach is located on the east side of Fukuoka, separate from other beaches. It is famous among tourists for its fine white sand, clear turquoise water, gentle entrance and shallow depth near the coast. Mainly families with children rest here. In the southern part, the sandy beach is framed by large boulders, among which bright small fish swim and crabs hide;
The sandy coastline of Sun Beach is lined with coconut trees
  • Bai Khem is inferior in size to the above-mentioned beaches, but surpasses them in beauty. It has an arched shape and is framed by coastal jungle and rocks. The purest blue water, snow-white sand, romantic landscapes, lack of noise attract vacationers here all year round.

Bai Khem - a small picturesque beach with white sand and turquoise water
  • In addition to relaxing on the numerous beaches of the resort during the dry season, it is convenient to explore the natural attractions of Fukuoka: the national park, waterfalls, beautiful neighboring islands. You can diversify your pastime by visiting the holidays and festivals that take place this season.

The most spectacular of these events are:

  • Boat racing festival held at the end of April at Dinh Cau Beach. The regatta is attended by men and women from many communes in Fukuoka. After the end of the swim and the selection of the winner, all boats participate in the final competition;
Traditional dragon boat races are held in Fukuoka every spring
  • epizode, a two-week New Years Eve Music Festival. The holiday is a musical event with a laser show, a varied program, famous DJs: Nina Kravitz, Ricardo Villalobos, Sonia Munir and others. The venue for the event is the beach on the territory of the Sunset Sanato complex, equipped with a stage, paths, and decorated with original art objects.
Neon lights, laser shows, and unusual stage designs make Epizode a vibrant and exciting event
  • Wet season

The rainy season in Fukuoka lasts from June to October. During this time, up to 80% of precipitation falls from the annual rate. The rains are most often short-term, but they fall almost every day, rarely two or three days without precipitation. A large number of jellyfish appear in the sea.

During this period, there are significantly fewer vacationers on the island, prices for tourist services are reduced to minimal ones. Because of the washed-out dirt roads, travelers can only visit some of the attractions located in the center of the island, where there is an asphalt surface.

During these months, you can visit temples and pagodas in the vicinity of Duong Dong, as well as participate in traditional Vietnamese festivals:

  • The Day of Wandering Souls attracts many tourists to the local pagodas. According to beliefs, on this day, the souls of ancestors visit their homes, and local residents, in order to express their love and gratitude to them, light incense, offer prayers, and put trays of food in the courtyards. In temples, special commemoration ceremonies are held with the participation of a large number of monks;
The festival procession of Buddhist monks ends in one of the Fukuoka temples
  • the mid-autumn festival is accompanied by many street events, including a procession of children with colorful lanterns and paper stars, a variety of contests and fairs, teeming with national sweets and fruits.
Vietnamese mass celebrations in the streets of towns and villages are part of the traditional mid-autumn festival and symbolize the end of the rice harvest.

Today it is the world's longest road over the sea with a route length of almost 8 km and a journey time of about 20 minutes. A visit to the cable car is a great opportunity to admire the Gulf of Thailand and the island from a bird's eye view.

The cable car over the sea is an exciting attraction for the whole family

The cost of a round trip for adults is 500 thousand dongs, for children - 300 thousand dongs. Tickets can be purchased at the cable car ticket office.

    Hippodrome "Dog Race"

The racetrack was opened in 2014 and has already become a popular destination for locals and tourists. This is not just a place for dog competitions, but also a kennel in which representatives of the Fukuoka Ridgeback breed are bred, characterized by a comb of hair on the back that grows in the opposite direction.

Fukuoka Ridgeback with a comb on the back is a very rare breed

The racetrack includes four 365 meters long racing tracks with various obstacles that the participating dogs must overcome. Competitions are held in two stages: the first round from 9.00 to 11.30, the second - from 14.00 to 16.00. After the completion of the races, guests are offered a tour of the racetrack with a fascinating story about the breeding and training of Fukuoka Ridgebacks. Travel planning

Phu Quoc Island covers an area of \u200b\u200balmost 600 km, so it is impossible to get acquainted with the main sights in a day, this will take at least two to three days. During this period, you can explore the central part of the island around the largest city of Duong Dong, visiting the local night market with the freshest seafood, a fish sauce factory, Pearl Farm and Dinh Kau Temple.

At Fukuoka Night Market, you can not only get the freshest seafood, but also have a great dinner

If you are planning a trip for 4-7 days, then you should visit the national park, pepper plantations, the Southern Islands with untouched nature, as well as diving and snorkelling on the Turtle Island in the northern part of Fukuoka. Those who do not have diving skills, but really want to see coral reefs and their inhabitants, can contact the diving club, where beginners will be taught the basics of diving. The captain jumped into the sea to quickly free her, sacrificing his life. When Jia Long (Nguyen Tkhe-to) became emperor, he returned to this place to honor the memory of the deceased captain.

For a long trip to the island, it is worth worrying about accommodation in advance, especially if the trip takes place during the high season. The choice of accommodation on the island is quite wide: from modest bamboo huts on the seashore to expensive apartments. Among the hotels with a European level of service, Coco Palm Resort, Arcadia Resort and Saigon Resort have a large number of positive reviews. Prices for a double room with breakfast included at Arcadia Resort start at $ 40, in guest houses you can rent a room for $ 9.

What to see on Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam

With the growing popularity of Phu Quoc Island every year, there are more and more good hotels and ways to have fun. Fukuoka has a large safari zoo, world-class golf courses, a large amusement park and several stunning beaches. Many people ask "Phu Quoc or Nha Trang, which is better?" I don't have a clear answer to this question. Phu Quoc is a much quieter resort than Nha Trang, but prices are slightly higher here. Nha Trang is more popular, Russian tourists discovered Phu Quoc relatively recently, and it still looks like an exotic island not trampled by tourists.

Fukuoka organizes ocean, land and air excursions, including scuba diving, hiking, exotic bird watching, trekking and fishing.

Phu Quoc combines natural beauty and tranquility, the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam and delicious cuisine. In this article, we will figure out what to see on Phu Quoc Island (Vietnam).

15 things to do in Fukuoka

I'll make a reservation right away that you can take excursions to Fukuoka (Vietnam) at local tourist information centers - this is not a problem. I would not be myself if I did not provide you with a link to a site where you can see prices for excursions in Fukuoka online. You can visit all the places listed in this article on your own.

Below you see a map of Fukuoka with sights in Russian, which I wrote about in the article. In the upper left corner of the map, you will see a button that looks like a tablet or monitor - click it and the map legend will open with all the places that I mentioned in the article.

    Relax on local beaches

Fukuoka has some of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam. Palm trees, azure sea and white sand in the best traditions of Bounty advertising. This is one of the few places in Vietnam where you can see the sun setting over the ocean. The most beautiful and famous beaches in Fukuoka are: Long Beach, Sao Beach, Khem Beach, Thom Beach, and Vung Bau Beach. If you can, then try to visit them all.

In the north of the island, between Vung Bau and Ganh Dau beaches, you will find Vinpearl amusement park - the younger brother of the famous Vinpearl park near Nha Trang. This is a local Disneyland - part entertainment complex, part shopping area and part hotel. This park is located on one of the most beautiful coastlines in Fukuoka.

Another beach worthy of attention is Cua Can. It is interesting to see the nearby villages, ride the river of the same name and walk in the local forest. You can also go fishing with the locals.

In my opinion, skiing in the north of the island is the most interesting, but you can choose your route and pretend to be a discoverer.

I would advise you to head to Fukuoka National Park (Công Viên Quốc Gia Phú Quốc). It is pleasant to ride here on red clay roads, admiring the ocean on one side and the forest on the other. There is a crocodile farm nearby.

Hire a boat and go fishing

One of the more fun things to do in Fukuoka is to hire a fisherman with a boat and go fishing. Half of the pleasure will be the opportunity to bargain, and the other half - the opportunity to see rare places where tourists practically do not wander, but the locals are very familiar with them.

In my opinion, the best fishing spots are An Thoi, Duong Dong River, Cua Can and Vung Bau beaches.

Especially you can't go wrong in An Thoi - there are constantly running fishing boats to small neighboring islets and you can easily negotiate with any fisherman.

    Explore the National Park

Fukuoka National Park covers about a third of the island. This option is perfect for those who like to walk a lot and discover everything mysterious and wild. The park has several basic popular trails, but you can choose your route. The main thing is to prepare well. The park is home to macaques, langurs, otters, loris, bats and hornbills.

If you are not confident in your ability to navigate the jungle, then it is better to buy a tour at one of the local travel agencies, because many trails here are not very clearly marked and there is a high probability of getting lost. And Phu Quoc is a large island, about 500 square kilometers.

Explore the underwater world with a mask - snorkeling

What else to do in Fukuoka (Vietnam), how to dive into the warm waters of the ocean with your head? Snorkeling is a leisure activity available to any person without age restrictions, who knows how to confidently stay on the water on their own or at least with a vest. The peculiarity of Fukuoka is that you don't need to swim far to see the beautiful underwater world with colorful fish and corals.

Scuba diving mask can be rented on popular beaches: Long Beach, Ganh Dau Beach, and Sao Beach, and here you can swim.

    Or go diving

Scuba diving is becoming more and more popular in Fukuoka every year. The reason is simple: the opportunity to see and touch the underwater world in warm clear water at low prices with friendly guides.

Anyone can try themselves in diving. The most popular dive site is the shallow waters around the islets of the An Thoi archipelago in the south of the island. Where I suggested you go fishing.

Beginners will be delighted with the beautiful coral life under the cover of water and swimming with colorful reef fish. If you've never scuba dived, Phu Quoc is a great place to do it for the first time. I'm serious!

The best meta for diving (I write in English and Vietnamese to make it easier to find on google maps):

In the north of the island:

    Turtle island (Đảo Rùa)

    Fingernail island (Hòn Móng Tay)

    On South:

    May Rut (Hòn Mây Rút)

    Hon Thom (Hòn Thơm)

    Dam Ngoai (Dâm Ngoài) West

    Dam Ngoai (Dâm Ngoài) South

    Roi (Rỏi) East

    Roi (Rỏi) South

And further several lesser known pointsbut no less beautiful Hon Doi (Hòn Dơi), Da Chong (Đá Chồng), Ngoc Trai (Ngọc Trai), Ky Lan (Kỳ Lân).

Swim at Da Ban Waterfall (suối Đá Bàn)

What else to see on Phu Quoc Island? Da Ban Waterfall is located 16 km from the main city of the island - Duong Dong, right in the middle of Phu Quoc Island. This is a very beautiful place and here you can swim in cool water. Oh joy! Because the sea is always warm.

You can, of course, not swim. And just climb up the stones and listen to the music of the forest: the singing of birds, the murmur of water. Catch a couple of fish and immediately fry in a nearby cave, and you can also collect fresh fruit.

Go to Dinh Cau Night Market

    © runnerone / flickr.com / CC BY 2.0

Dinh Kau market is called night market, because only at 17 o'clock the street Vo Thi Sau is blocked for cars, and it turns into a pedestrian street. At this time, the sellers take out their counters and work begins. Fukuoka Night Market has a lot to offer. Many people ask what they can eat in Fukuoka. My answer is that it is full of delicious food, such as grilled seafood, crab soup, boiled squid and snails, grilled meats and other Vietnamese dishes. If you want to eat fresh seafood, come early, by 19 o'clock there are a lot of people in the market and you will have to stand in lines.

In addition to food, the market sells souvenirs and handicrafts. Here you can easily find the answer to the question "What to bring from Fukuoka?" Many carry shells or dried crabs or sea stars, medicinal Vietnamese tinctures, hats, pearls. You can safely take pictures of whatever you want, it is allowed.

When you come to the market, sellers will call you, do not go to any, but first walk along the street back and forth to choose the place you like the most. Many sellers in the market are friendly, but there are also aggressive ones who will start screaming at refusal and threatening, why would you spoil your mood?

Markets are always overpriced, especially for foreigners. Keep in mind that you can always bargain in Vietnam.

At the market, you can buy fresh fish and seafood by weight. Some of them are still alive, swim in special containers, and some are on ice.

As in any market in Vietnam, there are many small begging children. Whether to give them money or not is up to you.

Take a ride on the water

Water sports are still new to Fukuoka. The island not so long ago began to receive tourists. And so far, only rare specimens are crossing the water surface on water skis, sailing yachts or kayaks. Most of the entertainment is provided on the main beach of Long Beach.

Have a picnic at Suoi Tranh Falls
