In the summer of 2011 we were vacationing in Salou. Long time to choose between Best Los Angeles and Best San Francisco. We stopped at the last one, but lived in the first one, because they changed our reservation upon arrival due to a pipe break in our room. Always freshly prepared meat and fish dish from the chef, although the hotel is 3 *. Every day themed tables: seafood, cheeses, smoked meats ... I did not expect such food from treshki. Often they replaced dinners with lunches, which is very convenient when traveling in the evening.
Our room had two huge beds. The air conditioner worked properly, which is of great importance for the summer.
Friends booked a room for three. A very profitable option for families with children. If the children are under 12 years old, it turns out that the child is practically free. Well, a very symbolic difference. For this reason, there are enough children in the hotel.
The little one spluttered in the paddling pool, the Spaniards played with balls in two small pools. We didn’t sit in the hotel much, I had time to pamper my body in the outdoor jacuzzi before dinner. They did not check in at Animation shows, although they saw invitations often.
The hotel has Russian-speaking staff, a receptionist and a restaurant manager.
Direct access to the beach 5 minutes, supermarket nearby, bus stop 3 minutes, buses to Barcelona 4 minutes.
Closer to departure, a letter was brought to the room with a proposal to issue a loyalty card. I filled out a questionnaire in English and left it at the reception, a month later I received a letter from Spain, in which they thanked us for choosing a hotel for rest and attached a loyalty card. The card entitles you to late check-out, to use some services for free and to participate in promotions. I inaccurately wrote the letter “K” in my last name and the card came to OLGA SIVILOVA. Probably the card issue is not linked to the guest database. It's funny. I asked my son to contact the network, but he still hasn't gotten around to it, but I really want him to do it himself, and we're not going to Spain yet.
A small inconvenience was that the view from the window was not very good, i.e. to the neighboring apartments. We were in the room sporadically, so this was not a big inconvenience.
It is better to get to the hotel from the station by taxi. You can walk to the central embankment and take the bus for a couple of stops. We walked on foot, our suitcases on wheels, for about half an hour.
It turned out that my friends also rested in this hotel on the recommendation of a travel agency and had heard a lot about the Best Hotels chain.

About the hotel: for such little money and for 3 stars, we did not expect super service from the hotel! A normal hotel for its stars! There are no problems at the reception - there are always Russian-speaking girls. Upon check-in: each room has its pluses and minuses - we had a 4th floor overlooking a neighboring hotel, where apartments for residents of Spain who come to relax on the sea, sometimes make a lot of noise until one in the morning! (As it turned out, the loudest and loudest were the retirees who periodically gathered at the reception - the total noise they created could only be compared with the sound of a jet plane during takeoff.) But late outside noise was from either side of the hotel, so it was necessary sometimes close the window. All walls between the rooms are made of plasterboard - there is no soundproofing. Towels were changed and cleaned every day - the floor was constantly in the sand, even after cleaning with a wet rag (tips don't help!) The bed was changed 3 times in 14 days. The lack of a refrigerator in the room was a little annoying - there was nowhere to chill wine, food and drinks bought in the supermarket (we had half board: breakfast and dinner). About the beach: we went to our own, and when there were a lot of people or wanted more waves, we went to the nearby beach of the Gala Font hotel (the beach is to the right, 20 meters away - it is also located in the rocks, but 3 times larger in size). The water temperature was always 20-22 degrees - you won't sit for a long time! About food: breakfasts - a lot of fruit, but otherwise monotonous, like all breakfasts in all hotels, the only difference was in the presence of semi-dry champagne! Dinner - just some kind of gourd: from fruits: watermelons, pineapples, melons, kiwi, oranges, apples, strawberries, cherries, peaches, apricots - seafood: two times there were tiger prawns, three times boiled mussels right in the shells, fried and stewed fish of several types have always been - meat dishes in various cooking options have always been: cutlets from pure meat, lamb, veal, pork, chicken, turkey (I will not write about sausages - there were also many different ones), once they gave their delicacy - jamon - very tasty! Their soups are not tasty! There were a lot of salads and vegetables too! Drinks at dinner were paid (3-4 times more expensive than in a supermarket), San Miguel beer is not bad! There was always ice cream in yogurt cups! It was better to come to dinner at 19.00 in order to take a seat near the window overlooking the SEA. Every woman is given a rose on Fridays - nice! Territory: small but cozy, hidden from all sides. The main pool is clean (before breakfast you throw a towel on a sun lounger near the pool and it's yours all day!) I went to the sea, walked 50 meters, returned to the sun lounger - it's very convenient and there is no need to pay for sun loungers on the beach! The beach and the sea are clean, only when there were waves, the water near the coast was muddy.
Near the hotel there are two large supermarkets (where you can buy whatever you want) - one 150 meters away, and the other (with the cheapest prices and frequent sales, including wine sales) a little further up the hill (near the road) 400 meters from hotel. In addition, there are two minimarkets - one opposite the nearby Gala Font hotel, the other (here the sellers speak only Spanish) near the red booth. Most of the wines cost between 2.50 and 10 euros. I advise you to take from Sangria in a two-liter plastic barrel (4.50 euros) - it seemed to us the most delicious.
In the hotel restaurant, only one of the waiters spoke fluent Russian with a Baltic accent (hair always sticks up funny), he, when ordering alcohol for dinner, can advise what to take. If you don't finish your wine at dinner, they hang a tag on it with the number of your room, cork it and bring it to you for lunch or dinner the next time.
