There is no stifling heat, no strong winds, and the sea water is stable at +25 degrees. There are no waves in the sea, and children can safely play on the beach.

    Tourist map of Budva, resort map with residential areas

    Budva is the main tourist resort in Montenegro; the city is perfectly suited for mass tourism, so let’s start with the Budva map.

    On this tourist map you can see how the Jadran Road highway passes through the city - along this route you can drive the entire country along the coast, from Croatia to Albania.

    The route roughly divides the city into two parts. If you are looking for accommodation in Budva(follow the link for a detailed post about renting housing at this resort), then down to the sea - expensive hotels (Alexander Hotel, Slavyansky Beach Hotel, etc.), up to the mountains - cheaper apartments (there are quite a lot of offers for renting private apartments and rooms with daily payment).

    Be sure to read my general post about renting Montenegrin resort real estate, about its types and features of removal.

    Residential areas of Budva on the tourist map

    1. Podkoshlyun- on the map this is the far right side of the city (on the opposite side from the Old Town), this area is always quiet and calm;
    2. Rosine- in the very center of the map, here are located: Budva bus station , main market, large supermarkets and other infrastructure important for tourists, as well as a smooth road to the sea ( I lived in this area);
    3. Gosposhtina- a stone's throw from the Old Town, close to Mogren beaches, this area is always noisy;
    4. Lazi- a very hilly area (located above the Podkosljun area), it’s high here and it’s quite difficult to walk in the heat;
    5. Podmine- within walking distance from Podmajne Monastery, this area is not very popular with tourists, too far from the sea;
    6. Dubovitsa- the area is located close to the bus station and the city center, there is excellent infrastructure and a smooth road to the sea;
    7. Bizheli- if you live in this area, you will clearly hear the Top Hill discotheque; Topliški Put Street runs through the area, which leads to the discotheque;
    8. Vidikovac- the area is located next to Mogren beach, and has the most beautiful view of the Old City, but it’s a very long walk up the mountain.

    Map of the Montenegrin coast

    Despite the fact that Montenegro is full of beauty, and you can easily find something to do, at least for the whole summer and beyond, however, most of our compatriots prefer to relax exclusively at seaside resorts. About the features of Montenegrin beach holidays, read the link.

    In this part of the post we will look at where in Montenegro there are popular coastal resorts that have gained popularity among Russian tourists.

    Here are the main beach resorts:

    1. Tivat;
    2. Becici;
    3. Petrovac;
    4. Budva;
    5. Ulcinj.

    Tivat on the map

    Tivat is one of the youngest tourist cities. Among the features of this Montenegrin resort, it can be noted that the city is quickly catching up, and tourism infrastructure is actively appearing in it. Along with new buildings, Tivat has several historical attractions.

    Good transport accessibility opens up great prospects for this resort. The city has international Airport , Yacht Club Porto Montenegro , bus station, and a highway.

    Becici on the map

    Next to the noisy Budva (literally a 15-minute walk), there is the calm resort village of Becici. The small town is located on a hillside that goes down to one of the best beaches in Montenegro. Attractions in Becici not very many, but they are interesting.

    A holiday at this resort is suitable for those who love peace and tranquility. Becici is especially good for tourists with small children, as the local beach is magnificent and the entrance to the water is smooth and smooth.

    Petrovac on the map

    The resort town of Petrovac is located 20 kilometers from the noisy and overpopulated Budva; tourists come to this resort for a family vacation.

    Budva on the map

    Budva is located in the very center of the Montenegrin coast. If you stay at this resort, it will allow you to travel around the whole country on public buses(follow the link for detailed instructions on using Montenegrin buses), and you can return to your hotel every day.

    1. On the Budva Riviera;
    2. On the Hercegnovskaya Riviera (Boko Kotor Bay);
    3. Beaches of New Bar;
    4. On the Ulcinj Riviera.

    Montenegro has a long coastline; the country has more than 70 kilometers of Adriatic coast, where you can find a beach to suit every taste and budget.

    There are several types of beaches in the country: sandy (often with imported sand), small and large pebbles (the most common), rocky (it is better to have special shoes to enter the water).

    Let's look at the map and see that it is convenient to group the beaches according to their location. We will divide the entire coast into several areas: the Budva Riviera, the Hercegnovskaya Riviera (Bay of Kotor), the beaches of New Bar, and the Ulcinj Riviera.

    Beaches of the Budva Riviera

    Beaches of the Budva Riviera you should look in the very center of the map. In Budva and its surroundings, sand and pebble beaches predominate, some of them with rocky areas, but during the tourist season there are no free places on any beach in Budva. Walk through all beaches of the Budva Riviera (from Budva to Sveti Stefan), you can follow the link.

    There are several popular beaches on the Budva Riviera: Lucice (Petrovac), Sveti Stefan, Morgen , Jaz and Ploce beaches. During the tourist season, all beaches from Budva to Sveti Stefan They are very popular, but some of them cost a lot of money to enter (from 100 Euros and above).

    Beaches of the Herzegnov Riviera

    The best beaches of the Boko Kotorska Bay are located on the Hercegnov Riviera, it is located near the border with Croatia (from Herzen Novi to the Croatian Dubrovnik is only 50 kilometers). It should be borne in mind that in Herceg Novi and throughout the Bay of Kotor, there is no open sea, it is a bay with all the ensuing pros and cons.

    The beaches on the Hercegnov Riviera, as in most places in the Bay of Kotor, are rocky - it is not very convenient for swimming, and sometimes dangerous. In the most touristy places of the bay, the shore is simply poured into concrete, and one must enter the sea along a ladder, as if it were a swimming pool.

    This sounds crazy, but all these inconveniences are perfectly compensated by the picturesque views. If you look at photos of concrete beaches of Herceg Novi, then it seems like nothing, but it’s a matter of taste.

    Beaches of New Bar

    On the map, the city of Bar should be found south of Budva; it is located between the resort of Petrovac and the city of Ulcinj.

    There are several good beaches on the coast of Bar, they are mostly sand and pebbles, there is even a tiny beach with red, coral sand. But you should remember that New Bar is a large port and not the best place for a beach holiday.

    Beaches of the Ulcinj Riviera

    Ulcinj is easy to find; on the map it is located on the border with Albania. It is believed that Ulcinj is the warmest place, both on the sea and on land. The water off the coast warms up faster than in other places, it’s all about the bottom topography (it’s flat here) and the dark shade of the sand (the sand is of volcanic origin).

    This is where it is located
