At first, "Boeing" planned simply modifying 767, as a result of which the concept of the so-called 767-x aircraft appeared. He was largely akin to 767, but had a longer fuselage, big wings and could transport about 340 passengers to a distance of 13,500 kilometers.

But the airlines were not impressed with the new aircraft. They wanted to have an airplane capable of flying and for shorter distances, the interior configuration, similar to Boeing 747, which, in addition, could be changed by adding or removing the required number of passengers in the cabin of a particular class. Another necessary condition was to reduce the cost of operation of this aircraft, they would have to be significantly lower than that of 767. As a result, the initial project was very recycled and the light, finally, two-dimensive Boeing 777 appeared.

From the very beginning, work on 777 was very different from the previous developments of Boeing. For the first time, airlines and passengers took an active part in the development of this car. Their opinion was put at the head of the corner, and as a result, the resulting machine, according to the recognition of the Boeing itself, became the consumer-oriented car in the world.

Boeing 777 became the first commercial airliner, 100% designed on computers. For all the development time, not a single paper drawing was released, everything was manufactured using a three-dimensional design system, known now as Catia. The aircraft was pre-assembled in a computer, which made it possible to avoid a large number of errors in production.

The development of the aircraft began in 1990 and immediately arrived the first order from United Airlines. In 1995, the first 777 began to fulfill commercial flights. At the moment, 777-200LR is an airplane capable of performing the longest passenger flights in the world.

Accidents

The accident, the loss of the aircraft, occurred from 777th on January 17, 2008. The aircraft of the British Airways airlines, following Beijing, landed, not flying to the runway in the London Heathrow Airport. Three people suffered from 136 passengers and 16 crew members, no one was killed. According to the Commission, which investigated the incident, the cause of the emergency landing could be the formation of ice crystals in the fuel system, which led to the loss of thrust of the engines. In the history of world aviation, this has not previously happened and it is unclear that it could cause ice in fuel. On April 30, 2009, the Boeing 777 airline South Korean airline Asiana Airlines, who made a flight from the United States to South Korea, made an emergency landing at the American Seattle airport due to the fire of one of the engines. During the takeoff, the airliner began technical problems, and witnesses from the ground even heard something similar to severe cotton or explosions, and flame languages \u200b\u200bappeared from one of the engines. The pilots made a decision on the emergency landing, knocked down the flame, dropped fuel and landed safely in Seattle. During the incident, no one was injured. The reason for the ignition is still unknown.
