It was originally a large settlement in the Roman province of Pannonia and was called Sopine. The Hungarian name "Pecs" was taken from a Slavic dialect and literally meant "five" (five churches). Speaking about it, it is worth noting its unique culture and wealth of historical values. The unique combination of Western and Eastern traditions makes the atmosphere of the city unusual and charming. The most important attraction is Kalemegdan Park, located in the old part of the city. On its territory is the famous Belgrade Fortress, surrounded on all sides by lush vegetation. This fortress suffered many seizures and destruction; many parts of it had to be rebuilt by restorers. Today, within the walls of the fortress, several exhibition halls are open, theatrical performances and knightly tournaments are organized. Orthodox believers should definitely visit the Cathedral of St. Sava, built in the 16th century and occupying the second largest place in the world (the first belongs to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow). In memory of the great scientist, the Nikola Tesla Museum was opened, which houses personal belongings and manuscripts of the outstanding scientist. There are drawings and diagrams that the inventor worked on, his library and miniature models of inventions are preserved.

It is placed on the list of monuments of exceptional importance of the Republic of Serbia, most of the buildings are of architectural significance, since they were built in the 1870s. It is believed that this was the center of the ancient Roman city of Singidunum, and during the time of the Ottoman Turks, the area had streets with gardens, fountains and mosques. After the development of the Belgrade building plan in 1867, the street received its current appearance. In 1870, the city government officially gave the street a name - Prince Mikhail Street, in honor of Mikhail III Obrenovic. Until the 1950s, most of the houses on Knez Mihail Street belonged to the two richest families in Belgrade. Return from excursion. Dinner. After dinner, entertainment in the Panoramic Salon. At 23:00 the ship departs for Orshova.

Day 5: ORSHOVA - IRON GATES - DROBETA - TURNU - SEVERIN

Breakfast. Early in the morning, the most amazing and exciting scenic sailing on the Danube is the passage of the Iron Gate, the gorges between the Carpathians and the Balkans. This gorge is located on the border of Serbia and Romania. This place is so beautiful that it still attracts travelers from all over the world. The Iron Gate stretches along the Danube for as much as 134 kilometers. This is the last barrier, located in the north of Romania, beyond the Romanian city of Orsova. Individual rocks of this gorge reach a height of 500 meters. Sometimes the rocks almost close together; here the Danube River narrows to almost one and a half hundred meters, but its depth increases to 53 meters! Rocks and dangerous rapids have left a very sad mark on the history of navigation: not far from the Iron Gate gorge, the river widens, its level drops, and the rocky bottom is almost exposed. Many ships have been wrecked here. Over time, people broke the bottom using dynamite, but ships still have difficulty passing this section of the route. Until the third quarter of the twentieth century, motor ships could not move along this section and were transported by trains. At 10:00 the ship arrives in Orshova. Departure to bus and walking tour in Băile Herculane.

The resort of Baile Erculane is located in the valley of the Cerna River in the territory of the Doline-Domogled Sirna National Park. It is the oldest resort in Romania, the first mention of which dates back to the second century AD. In 153, Roman legionaries appreciated the healing power of local springs, calling this place “Waters of Hercules.” They also built the first baths in the valley, which were known for another 200 years throughout the Roman Empire. During the latest archaeological excavations, baths were discovered, decorated with a certain luxury for the relaxing aristocracy. Six statues of Hercules, who was the patron saint of these places, were also found. The excavations are located in the center of the resort and are one of its attractions. Today the resort has 16 springs of thermal mineral waters with temperatures ranging from 38.5 to 60 degrees. For drinking treatment, carbonic chloride, low-mineralized sodium and low-sulfide waters are used. There are hiking trails to the springs along several routes, passing through the caves of Thieves and Adam's Cave, gorges and climbing mountain peaks. In winter, the resort turns from a health resort into a ski resort. There is a casino here and the annual Hercules International Folklore Festival takes place here.

Meanwhile, at 10:30 the ship departs for the Romanian city of Drobeta-Turnu Severin. Relaxation on board the ship. Arrival in Drobeta-Turnu Severin at 13:30. Return from excursion. A boat ride along numerous canals with rare tropical vegetation and a surprisingly diverse fauna.

OR departure to full-day excursion to the Techirghiol salt lake.

Techirghiol is called the "Romanian Dead Sea" because the water in the lake is very salty - six times the density of sea water. But water is not the whole wealth of Techirghiol - at the bottom of the lake there is sapropel mud . Sapropel is “time-processed” plankton, pollen and some living organisms that settle at the bottom of the reservoir. These deposits may be several hundred years old. A huge amount of nutrients is contained in these muds: minerals, humus, estrogenic substances, which play the role of activation and regeneration. According to legend, the lake was discovered by accident by an elderly Turk named Tekir. He suffered from rheumatism and, entering the water of the lake, felt amazing relief. Not only he recovered, but also his donkey, and from then on the lake was called Techirghiol (Lake Tekira).

At 12:30 the ship leaves Tulcea for Galati.

Dinner. Scenic sailing along the winding and beautiful Danube Delta. At 17:30 the ship arrives in Galati. Return to the ship from the excursion. At 18:00 the ship departs for Ruse. Dinner. Musical evening in the Panoramic Salon.

Day 8: RUSE

Breakfast. Cabins are vacated until 09:00. Relaxation on board the ship. Scenic sailing on the magnificent Danube. The Danube is the largest river in Central and South-Eastern Europe, the second river in Europe after the Volga. The Danube is one of the main rivers in Europe. It originates in the Black Forest mountains and on its way to the Black Sea crosses ten European countries: Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine. There are four capitals on its banks: Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest and Belgrade.

At 16:00 the ship arrives at the largest port in Bulgaria, Ruse. This city is multinational and combines elements of both Bulgarian and Romanian cultures: huge palaces, majestic buildings, wide avenues. Group transfer to Varna (city center and airport).
