To relax on the Algarve coast and not to visit the most legendary edge of the earth - in the fortress Sagresh (Sagres), we could not. Far outgoing in the ocean and wind-free Cape is truly personifies the end of the world. And the sheer sixtieth meter cliffs, tearing into the Atlantic Ocean, produce an indelible impression.

Lighthouse

Sagresh. Western cape.

Among the local population is the legend that in the XV century, Heinrich the navigator, who organized many maritime expeditions, for funds of the Order of Christ, founded a navigation school in the sagersche, in which Magellan's experience was gained, Vasco da Gama and Diaz. From here, the search for the perfect sea journey to India began. Several expeditions were sent from Sagresh to the southern coast of Africa, which supplied the portugal with gold and black slaves.

The earthquake of 1755 strongly destroyed the fortress. And today little remained from the once majestic city. The old lighthouse and the fortress wall attract the attention of the Fort XVII century. with terraces. And also the remains of the tiny chapel of the XIV century.

Only a stone playground with the remains of the 43-meter "Rose of the Winds" remained from the school itself.

Sagresh. The remains of the XIV century chapel

Sagresh was chosen by surfers - because of the best waves in the country, fans of sports fishing - because the most "cool" places, and lovers of silence and peace - because there are few tourists here, since the place is blown away by all winds.

The Cape De Sao Vicente (Cabo de Sao Vicente) is visible - the southwestern point of mainland Europe. Cape has always served as a landmark for sailors. Now on its top - the lighthouse with a radius of action of 95 kilometers. Of all the existing lighthouses of Europe, this is the most powerful.

The most famous resort cities of the southern coast of Portugal - Lagush, Albufeira and Portimau. In any case, these names most often I met on tourist forums, especially Russian when the journey was planned. BC They are the most popular, then the most tourist saturated.

Lagos (Lagos) - An ancient maritime city with more than a two-thousandst history, ascending back to Carthaginians. The story of Lagush is inseparable from the history of the province, the city was experiencing the same events as the rest of the coast - in two and a half thousand years of their existence of Lagush was a house for the Phoenicians, Carthaginian, Romans and Moors .

Today Lagush - the picturesque city on the ocean, located around the beautiful harbor, and famous for its clean beaches, restaurants and hotels . INdol coast stretches a wide promenade with splash palm trees, souvenir kiosks and shopping tents, which are well shred to walk the tourists thirsty. And on the reverse side, along the channel, the yachts and boats, offering tourists exciting sea entertainment: the inspection of the bizarre grottoes and caves created in the coastal rocks by marine waves for many centuries.

All this attracts travelers and makes Lagush one of the most sought-after resorts.

In Lagush, we drove after the sagersha, looking forward to see the Church of St. Antonio, built in 1707 in the Baroque style. For an external simple facade of the church and asymmetric bell tones, a richly decorated with gold interior is hidden, she is also called the Golden Church. The Ceiling of the Church shows the emblem of Portugal, the lower part of the walls are decorated with blue-white Azulzhush, other parts of the walls are separated by a carved gold-plated and painted tree.

Unfortunately, the church was closed on the restoration. And nothing remained for us, as, having passed the streets of the city, go to one of the beaches that Lagush are famous for. Many cliffs of interesting shape, grottoes and small coves, to most of which can be reached only from water, attract tourists from around the world.

On the embankment, the remains of the wall surrounding the city in antiquity, and Fortaleza Ponta Da Bandeira) of the XVII century, built to protect the harbor, are preserved on the embankment.

At the end of the XVII century, the Algarve coast was very often attacked by pirates. Lagos, who once was the capital of Algarve, as she suffered from them, as he was a port city. And then Governor Algarve, Count Sarzedos, decided to build a fort near the port.

The fortress was built from 1679 to 1690, while Portugal led War for its independence from Spain. It was possible to get into the fortress only through the lifting bridge over the deep moat, dug in before the entrance. The fort is built in the form of a square, a guard towers are located in the corners of the Fort. Inside the fort there is a chapel of Saint Varvara, the walls of which are decorated with tiles "Azulezush" of the late XVIII century.

Today, the traditional holiday of Lagush is held on the territory of Fort - a midnight swimming holiday: annually on August 29 people are going to swim at midnight, taste local dishes and listen to live music.

A lot of schools are open to Lagus, where you can learn surfing, manage kayaks, canoes and some other plaques.

Albufeira.

A pleasant fishing town with snow-white houses on the ocean coast has become the tourist capital Algarve. The Romans also chose this place and erected a castle here, to which the Arabs were given the name of Al-Bukhar - "Castle on the sea". In the period of Arab government, active trade with North Africa unfolded here. In the XIII Art. The castle captured the Knights of the Order of Santiago, and the loss of trade relations that followed this led to a decline of the city.

Most often in Albufeira come for the sake of beautiful beaches, separated by high cliffs, which stretch on a lot of kilometers. One of the most famous beaches of the city - Painse, or, as it is also called, a tunnel beach (Praia-do-tunnel). It is located in the old part of the city, and to get there, you need to go through the tunnel done right in the rocks.

In Albufear, many entertainment centers and nightclubs, so life in it boils around the clock. A large number of boutiques and shops where you can buy almost everything - from clothing of world brands to small souvenirs made by local masters.

Portimau. (Portimao) is one of the largest cities of Algarve, and in my feelings - the biggest. Huge multi-storey boxes of hotels (from affordable to fashionable), which we saw from the bus window when we went to Sagresh, did not contribute to our sympathy for this resort. But it so happened that we had to live in this city of 2 incomplete days.

The history of Portimau, like all coastal towns, begins with the history of a small port, where the Phoenicians, Greeks and Carthaginians have once traded. Portimau is located at the mouth of the Arad River, which has become a natural harbor for ships, and in ancient times known as the refuge of Corsaars and Pirates. The river provided access to the sea and the ancient capital of Algarve - Silves, located up the river. Local products are exported from Portimau's port - figs, olive, wine, fish. We imported slaves and sugar, mainly from African colonies and Brazil.

In the XVII - XVIII V.V. The development of the city significantly slowed down due to the weakening of trade and the devastating earthquake in 1755. The main temple and 15 small chapels were destroyed. Giant waves caused significant damage to the urban walls and the Fort of Santa Catarina. At the same time, the Marquis Pombal intended to turn Portimau into the bishop of the city, and elevated the port in the rank of the city, however, the Queen of Maria I left the veto on his decision, and the status of the city of Portimau acquired only in 1924.

Among the majority of tourists, Portimau is famous for its huge beach of Praia da Rocha (Praia da Rocha), stretching a few kilometers. Comfortable wooden tracks are completely encircled the beach, going down to the water, there are boils for dressing, showers and cafes. Like most resorts Algarve, Portimau is located on the rocky massif, from which the picturesque view of the ocean offers, the resort itself and its surroundings.

When we descended on the beach of Praia-da Rocha, arriving in Portimau after lunch, they froze from amazement, shock and horror, and my hand instinctively reached for the camera - we have not seen such a number of vacationers! :))

We hardly found a small free beach clatic for their things near the water. True, the storming on that day of the ocean one of his longest wave drove us and from there. :))) Having heard a number of Russian-speaking holidaymakers, we involuntarily talked to them - these were the inhabitants of Moldova, who came to spend their children and grandchildren living and working here in Portimau. It turned out that in Portugal there are many not only of our compatriots, but also many residents of Moldova Moldavia.

All the rest time we sunbathe and bathed on the next beach, located at one of the rocky protrusions. This beach was small, there were no wooden tracks, cabins for dressing up and soul, but there were few people there, and several bizarre rocks were grown out of the water - where it was possible to look at the sun and make some cute photos.

As in any huge resort town, with a sunset life in Portimão does not stop, she noisily flows from the beach to bars, pubs, open scenes and discos. From May to October, numerous concerts and festivals with local and world stars are held in Portimão. The Sardin festival is very popular, which is held at the end of summer and lasts a whole week. Everywhere is preparing sardines on the grill, all this is accompanied by live music and craft fairs.

And we were ahead of Lisbon, Sintra, Evora ... and the sunset on Cape da Rock - we became one of the last inhabitants of the continent who saw the sun on that day. :))

Faro and Albufeira behind, I go to Lagush

Some clay townships were driving, and now he is Lagos. Looks great. Bus station right next to Marina. The evening sun, and in its rays is transfused by special shades of white magic yachts and ships. Wonderful Promenade. But I live here. Advised in the hostel to take a taxi, like, half an hour. I refused at the beginning, and then I decided that I could afford 4 euros. But then another quest - find a taxi. At the station, they were not, so I went to the city center. So what? Vietnamese - comfortable shoes.

Finally, a taxi was found. I was bobcly explained to the singement of Portuguese, where I needed, and we went. Right along this wonderful promenade, past the sun's antique cathedrals, past the monuments and coniferous parks. I got surprisingly quickly. Not all taxi drivers are fraudsters. When it sat down, I was told 5. When I arrived, it turned out to be 4.15. I gave me to a penny, even though I did not count especially and was already morally shattered with 5 euros.
I was waiting for me in the hostel, there is even a swimming pool. But why should I have a pool, if there is a sea!

I immediately recognized everything I need. But I could not decide, to go to Cape San Vincent tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Everything rested in the weather, promise rains. In the rain is better on the caution than on the beach. In general, I decided not to score my head, but see how it would go.
And it went like that - I went for acquaintance with the city center.

The main lesson today is not to ask the way in people who look local, but they speak English. On the first fork, the card could not tell me exactly where I am in general, and I asked a man with a dog. With the dog !!! So local.
But no, he in English pointed to me the way and then began a new quest. The streets for which I went was pleasant, wide and snow-white with luxurious villas and expensive condominiums on both sides. But for no hope - there was no on the map.

From the side of the distance I saw the sea, and it seemed to me that the path leads somewhere where I need. But when the road sharply went up to the new luxurious villas and snow-white condominimi, I saw two teenagers. Let me ask, still there are no other people on the streets. The answer was in principle expected. No, this street will never lead you to the center. Clear. I thought so. Do not believe people with dogs speaking in English.

I did not lose anything, of course, but eventually came to the center, albeit not through so much time as planned.
What is the center? This is a set of streets, churches, monuments, restaurants and souvenir shops surrounded by a fortress wall.

I wanted to drink terribly, and I saw these magic letters - Batido de Banana. Yes, and sold their cute old woman. She explained to me that 4 euros is very cheap. Hmmm. Okay, I will make a discount on a huge glass and city center. But it is never cheap. But very tasty.
In the meantime, the sun sits even lower, and now the yachts acquire new shades. Very pleasant place. And there are few people. As usual, all in the city center stores. I do not understand this topic, sell anything - from plastic garbage to gold and shops are full. Is it possible to bring gold from vacation ???

In general, this is not given to me, so I quickly wandered over the alleys on the principle of "from the crowd," loved by beautiful snow-white houses and left the limits of the fortress wall. There is a good restaurant. Rather, it seemed to me that he had to be quite good, and I was not mistaken.

Inexpensive, do not bring Cubero, there is Wi-Fi, rather crowded (and, it means good). I sit here slightly, I tumble salad from octopus and meat !!! Röbeber did not turn out, oh you sadness. But it was just a pig. Perhaps meat I have not absorbed for a long time, so forward. I learned the new word in Portuguese - fork (Garfo). Nothing common with Spanish Tenedor. Missed with a comrade, which sells boot-trips on a mixture of all languages. But I still need to practice the local language. I train, every day is better. If you think simple phrases, I easily find the necessary words in the brain and wonderful phrases. But, of course, about Navalny, the conversation on the portuguese is not supported.

The road went easier than the road from the house. I am already focused and avoid questions addressed to unclear people with dogs. But I was also caught on the street motorists with questions, how to drive there. I already knew the answer, so helped with joy!
The day ended, in the hostel, the Germans. My neighbor is a very friendly young lady. I told her everything I remember from the lessons of the German at school. Well, there about Lenin. And of course, everything that I knew about Frankfurt. And I knew about him the most basic airport.
It is necessary to pay a little further television, and then I do not know what I will do tomorrow. Detailed excel tables with schedules and detailed plans remained in the past. Now pure expression.

However, I estimated a couple of options on "between Lisbon and Porto". It turned out that I have extra 2 days that I have not remembered I do not remember what. It is wonderful more flexibility, more options, more opportunities. And what is noteworthy, I bought the Madeira to the pseudo-random dates. It seemed to me that the chosen days would be plus a minus correctly. And I was not mistaken, it would be possible to move the schedule to or here on the day, but in general the time was chosen perfectly. Well, the second time in Portugal I do everything, as it should. Compensation for spring hepatitis).

The place here is very peaceful. No noise, parties. Home guest. In family. Time to sleep. Tomorrow I am waiting for new impressions, or the beach, or a cape. We will see.

Despite the very early post, it did not work early early. And I still hid, here, breakfast is only with 9, and who is so late breakfast. It is necessary that from 7 am. And here I easily rose.
Breakfast struck me again. Included in the bed for 10 euros is sur. Cakes, sausages, ham, cheeses - some kind of holiday. Tomorrow you have to borrow a little breakfast for lunch).
So. Solved. While there is a sun, I will go to the beach. Sagresh and Cape will be tomorrow!
The walk to the beach was again a quest, something is not laid in my friendship with Portuguese maps. But when the sea is visible in front, it's easier.
Reached.

And just with my arrival left the sun. However, this little problem did not interfere with me to spend 2 hours on this marvelous beach, surrounded by majestic cliffs. A certain route for mini-trekking along all beaches is drawn on the map. That's where I'm going there, only a little bit. There are few people, the wind is pretty warm, the sun is sometimes shown. Pure pleasure. The noise of the sea was so burned and caressed my ears covered with sand, which was not solved to turn on the player. Only the sounds of nature today!

So, I will go to the trekking. The map is absolutely incomprehensible, as it should look like. Top along the shore on the rock there is a path, and people even go on it, but it is difficult to understand this or this territory of luxury condo is difficult. I drank again, and when I felt in the gutter that I was going on the way that I had returned to the beach and found this inconspicuous entrance to the trail for the cafe.
What pleased me that the whole territory along the sea is private and fenced, but a path and a couple of meters from the edge - common. There is a walkway, on which anyone can go. Still, comply with water protection rules. And it's great because I would have been hurt if I could not see what I saw because of the legal status of the Earth.

So here. At the beginning I saw the first beach from above, and then there was something unimaginable to me. This is just the very landscapes that I dreamed of seeing. Yes, there is no sun, but the wind and waves, it seems to me, even more approached this picture. It was something. Each meter could be stopped and sticking. Do not pass. On my simple taste it was just fantastic. Severe rocks, breaking about the shore of the wave, endless expanses, heavy sky, flying birds, incredibly bright shrubs, a lot of paths, strong wind. Element! I was delighted.

At one point I had to descend down the alternating rock. I was in Vietnamese, I'm afraid of heights, and there was no railing there. I had enough enough for the bushes and tried to control the breath and do every step with increased caution. I understood the main thing, flip flops not for trekking. But I do not regret that those 5 minutes of horror were in my life. After that, species became more and more unreal.

This journey is possible only alone. Right say. I walked and enjoyed not only the wonders of nature, but also loneliness. No need to maintain idle chatter or just sadly nod from politeness. You can just be one in the whole universe. Let at the time, but this is a very pleasant moment.
Looking ahead, I will say that I highly recommend this walk. It seems to me that in any weather it should be super beautiful. Here on the map of mine she is marked with a yellow line. Dress Sandals!

So here in this part of the trekking, which before Ponta de Piedrade was not almost no one. Rare couples, rare loners. You seemed to be one in the parallel world, there is no civilization at all. Even the condominiums are somehow imperceptibly embedded in the landscape.

Downstairs, there are little beaches from time to time, but I saw how people in wetsuits rose from one of them, I was flooded. One stuck and could not go ahead or back. The poor fellow, as I understand it. I was looking for it. And I remember that terrible feeling, like on the way with Picchu Machu, when you can't make a step forward, not back. After the nervous 30 km per day on the rails without stopping over the final abyss, my courage disappeared. I made one foot a step forward and froze. Then I just did not see the option for myself to raise the second and move to the first one, or remove the first back to the second. The words seem simply. But in practice .... Theikra was shaking, the droplets of the sweat performed on the forehead, it was dark, scary and it seemed that the help of waiting for nowhere. But we are so arranged that often after hours of horror everything remains in the past. So here, the guy gathered with the forces and overcame the critical site for him.
I watched this with anxiety. And I realized that, of course, I would not get there. Even if it were in sandals. And, nevertheless, the path was no less picturesque. I wanted to fly, like screaming near the seagulls, jump, stuff, but at least just spread your arms to the sides, substituting the face of the oncoming wind.

Elegant walking place. Just fantastic!

Finally I reached the lighthouse. My verdict, part "to the lighthouse" a much cooler part of the "after the lighthouse". There is a stop of the tuura, and, it means that the unity with nature will not work here. But it turns out to be unity with tourists, there are very many here.

Lovely I got the route, yesterday I did not think to go on him, I wanted to restrict ourselves to this brilliant lighthouse. But now I see that landscapes along the way from the far beach to the lighthouse in combination with the desert of the place and harmony with natural elements - it is much more impressive experience.
I continue my way. Here is somehow not so. Landscapes spoil the ugly hotel buildings, however, rock formations sticking out of the water as irrepressible ereginated phalluses, too, who also excited my eyes. Here, tours of grottoes on the boats, well, I, perhaps, will cost. I will not desecrate the day of fantastic trekking by vulgar tourist attractions.
Someone did not reach the final point

The weather begins to spit, although even in the absence of the Sun, some areas of water look transparently turquoise, or how fashionably talk to tourocal.

By the way, I recently did a hacktur, in which the beaches praised, they say, marked with a blue flag. Could not understand that for crap such this blue flag. I know, red - either communism, or it is impossible to bathe. And here is blue. It turned out to be my beaches, too, they are marked. So this is apparently cool.
Portugal I like. Here you can drink water from under the tap. Filled the bottle and forward. For balance with expensive cigarettes, see. And here you can walk without a bra. It is even more than nice. I love the summer dress code.

The weather goes down and then I begin to feel easy tiredness in my feet. In the first part of the trekking there was a mental reboot. I was simply filled with emotions and delight, but the second one went smoothly. Well, as otherwise. Where people and infrastructure are there, there is less space for mental flight.

I woke to Santa Ana's Beach, and then the rain changed the tactics. Instead of light refreshing droplets, rain began. Not strong, but the bag has become worst. What, everything as always came out beautifully. I enjoyed the trekking at the most excellent time for him. Neither cold nor hot. Optimally.
And both it ended everything and the rain went. I did not have time to reach the very last beach, but there, judging by the prospect of the future, I would not see anything new.
We must lose rain. I bought a chocolate unit, sat down under the visor of the store and began to wait. The aged cashier asked my life, whether I was not sad. Yes No, I say, I sit after a walk, I think, rest, waiting for the end of the rain.
He was satisfied with my answer and closed the store in 5 minutes and offered to take me, where I need. And where do I need? I will go to drink tea yesterday and look at the rain. Thank you, senior.

In the Kabaska half the same faces. Cups, sandbroke. 2.3 euros. Quite yourself. Near the young Russian guys. But what topics are discussed. Religion, politics, universal values. And very young. And without Mata. I was pleasantly amazed, but did not recognize from where they were in order not to have a conversation for a couple of three hours.
Rain verse, I have to go to myself.

Sagresh will be tomorrow. I helps the exercise "Walk" mastered on meditation. Here I go along gorgeous condo and I do not see anything under your nose. And then still attention focuses, and now I immediately notice a snail, rapidly heading for a tree, which matches something very similar to persimmon.

Of course, according to the famous law, the sandwich, as soon as I twisted the sun, immediately looked out of the sun). But it is not scary. I am very pleased with today's walk. It was unusually beautiful.
Before bedtime, he rose to the terrace of the hostel and saw an unusual sunset. A thin strip of the sunny sky of the sky between the dark earth below and the thunderstorm sky from above. Very nice. This lane of light seems to be blocked through a dark picture. Yes, and the evening ocean itself appeared in such a light violet glow. Every moment of life is unique. The truth is spoken.

About the cities of Algarve.

The South Portuguese province of the Algarve has long and firmly consolidated the status of a beach holiday zone, but the tourist gathering on this vacation should pay attention to that Algarve extended along the southern shore of the country by 170 km, and on which point of this segment you will stop, can Carefully depend on the subsequent globility. Not touching specific hotels and other details, I will try to give in this article summarized assessments by the main cities and villages occupied in the field of tourism. I hope this information will help you decide on the place of residence at the time of vacation. Before choosing a specific settlement, you should know that Algarve has two fundamentally different parts - Western (Barlavento) and Eastern (Sotavento). Barlavento uses tourists more popularity, and the point here is not so much in the tradition, as in the nature of the terrain. This half of the region has a hilly relief with climbing and rocky shores and beautiful beaches; Often there are pine and eucalyptus armor. Water in the ocean is cooled here than in the eastern part. In Sotavento, the coastal strip is flat, swollen places, and almost all over the entire seed from the sea with sandy braids. Between them and the coast, the water is stuffed, creating a dirty outer, and you can swim in fresh warm water, only crushing on the spit. In some places, bridges are made for this, but more often you have to use ferry services.

As a result of such a distribution of natural resources, an appropriate lifestyle has developed. In the western part, it is more active and urbanized, and the eastern half is occupied predominantly agricultural facilities with a slowly burning atmosphere (paradise for pensioners). Decide which rhythm your soul is a male, and you can move to the choice of a particular settlement. Their descriptions follow in the place of location on the ground - from the east to the west.

Monte Gordo. Like an oasis in the desert is a source of a motley rich life against the background of sleepy surrounding area. Located on an elevation, he is more connected with Spain than with all the rest of the Algarve. Hotels, apartments, bars and restaurants in large quantities compactly lined up along the coast. Practically from any place a couple of minutes walk to the endless smooth sandy beach. The city is a favorite holiday destination for Dutch, and, like Holland, full of bicycles. The flat terrain is surrounded by pine buildings to unchargeable cycling. From the nearby Vila Real de s.antonio, you can go into a cruise on a boat along the hilly banks of the Guadiana Border River, or simply walk on the ferry in the Spanish side and feel the difference between two cultures. The city is convenient for roads. It is better to come here by bus, because J.D. The station is located outside the city. There is no entertainment park nearby.

Tavira. Discussed at the mouth of the river Gilao on both its shores. Several bridges in the coupe with the historical part of the city form an interesting ensemble, and the embankment of the river with numerous restaurants is very popular among the population. There is a sufficient number of hotels and apartments to different tastes, both within the city and in the nearest suburbs, but at the same time the Tavir is not carrying explicit signs of the tourist center, remaining a completely authentic settlement. Shallow beaches are washed with warm water, but no one of them has direct quick access - it is necessary to ferry on sandy braids. Convenient transportation and fruit gardens surrounding Taviru create a cozy atmosphere. Auto and J.D. Stations are located near the center, there are several supermarkets. There is no entertainment park nearby.

Faro. "Everyone is heard because he is an administrative center of the province of Algarve, but even more because international airport is located. From the point of view of tourism, only the historic center of the city is of interest. Hotels are small and unavocaluable, and are designed mainly to people who come for a couple of days, and those who are important to the proximity of the airport. The beach is located on a sandy spider about 10 km from the city, where they move along a single-mounted bridge. In the summer, this bridge is built up a long column of machines, and parking places on the beach are limited. The west of the airport extends an extensive pine forest, very popular from lovers of cycling. The city center provides good shopping opportunities. The transport scheme is quite confusing, widespread problems with parking, and traffic jams are formed on all major roads. Auto and J.D. Station is located nearby in the city center.

Almancil. - An ordinary town that does not represent the slightest interest, but known for the fact that all the ways are held through it in the most civilian golf resorts: QUINTA DO LAGO and VALE DO LOBO. These places are the Algarver Beverly Hills, and that says it all. Elegant villas, pines and endless golf courses with appropriate prices. It is here that there is a watershed between the eastern and western parts of the Algarve, both in a portable and literal sense: East Quinta Do Lago, the coast is separated from the sea with a germing brace, stretching almost to the border with Spain. The departure from Almancila is a karting park.

Quarteira and Vilamoura. - Popular tourist centers closest to Faro Airport. Despite the fact that physically, these two cities make up a single whole, smoothly flowing alone to another, the essence of them completely different. Roughly speaking, people who serve Vilamoura live in Quarteira.

Quarteira. - An ordinary philistine city with cramped buildings. There are several inexpensive hotels and campsites, but tourist apartments are dominated, almost all located along the coastline, which, in turn, is bordered by a solid long beach. The city is rather fussy, and all the fuss focuses along Avenida - the main transport artery going along the coast. Transport access here is not very convenient, with parking chronic difficulties, J.D. No message. In addition, except for the beach of other advantages, there is no city.

Vilamoura. - Artificially created purely tourist object. The central part of the city almost completely consists of large hotels and apartments, among which there are a lot of 4 * and 5 *. The layout is made with a scope, each hotel has its own territory. Here is the casino - the venue of frequent show programs - but the main life of the city is boiling around Marina (Harbor for yachts and boats), on the shores of which most bars, restaurants and boutiques are located. Pleasure cruises start with Marina, fishing exits, etc. Types of marine entertainment. There is only a few hotels to the beach direct access to the beach, so most tourists have to overcome a decent distance on foot or by car. Actually, the beach produces a rather miserable impression, and is not one of the main advantages of the resort. Vilamoura is, first of all, a place for a power fashion luxury public. Around the multi-storey central part of a dozen kilometers, the complexes of villas and golf couplings are stretching in greenery - an excellent choice for fans of silence and peace. The city and surroundings are covered with an extensive network of beautiful roads, get lost in which even a local resident can. There are no traffic jams here, but access from the main trail is not very convenient; There are no problems with parking. J.D. The line goes far away, the bus message also leaves much to be desired. Extensive green surroundings are ideal for easy refreshing jogs and cycling. Large supermarkets in the city No, prices are overestimated by all positions.

In the immediate vicinity of Quarteira and Vilamoura there is a popular AquaShow water amusement park, in the nearby Almancille - the kart trail.

Albufeira. - The most promoted and very popular resort. This is the "golden mean", located at the crossroads of paths and opinions. It offers hotels and apartments in an innovable quantity, both inscribed in the urban environment and scattered within the radius of 10 km throughout the district (areas Olhos de Agua, Gale and Sao Rafael). Here everyone will find an option on your wallet - from cheap residences and camping up to 5 * hotels and private villas. Albufeira is known as the most part of the city - it is here that lovers of bars and disco clubs come out in the evenings. The strip of the beaches stretches on a tet of kilometers, interrupting small cliffs, and gradually changing the appearance - giving the opportunity to choose everyone to your liking. However, the entire coastal zone is urbanized, and if your hotel is far from the sea, then come to the beach by car and park will not be a task not from the lungs. Access to Albufeira on the car is simple and convenient, but in a high season there are often traffic jams on entry into the city and difficulty with parking in certain parts. Bus routes contact the city with surroundings, as well as with other cities of Southern Portugal. J.D. The station is located 5 km deep into the territory, and usually, people get there on a taxi. There are several supermarkets in the city feature and a large commercial center "Algarveshopping" 5 km on the west on the EN125 highway. In the summer, the Albufeira takes a corrida, and within 10 km west are located the oceanographic park "Zoomarine" and the exhibition of sandy sculptures "Fiesa". Most sea excursions start with Marina (yacht harbor), located behind the Western tip of the city, which creates certain inconvenience in the absence of personal transport. The disadvantages of Albufeira can also be attributed to its noncompact (perfectly chaotic location of hotels, shops, restaurants, etc.) and the irrationality of the road network forgoing long movements. The population of the city in the summer period increases sometimes 10 times (!), And, of course, such a crowded (noise) affects the rest not in the best way.

Armacao de Pera.. The once modest fishing village, the forces of the tourist industry in a short time acquired all the attributes of the modern city: supermarkets, high-rise buildings, banks, hotels, restaurants. There are several hotels and apartments within the urban feature, but the tourist area of \u200b\u200bSenhora da Rocha is more popular west of the city. It perfectly implemented the principle "Silence and peace next to civilization." The picturesque beaches of SRA.DA ROCHA fill the soul with an idealistic mood, and lovers to "walk" can easily go to the Armacao de Pera center. Convenient car access; Corks and difficulties with parking is extremely rare. There are several passing bus routes, whose schedule leaves much to be desired; J.D. No message. As a result, some "cutoff" of the resort, which you absolutely do not feel in the presence of a car. On the outskirts of the city there is a good camping. Numerous restaurants are located on the embankment, among which there are a lot of delicious fresh fish. The entertainment industry is poorly developed, so it is better to contact about the hotel's reception. In 7km deep into the territory there is a water park "Aqualand"; approximately at the same distance, but east - exhibition of sandy sculptures "Fiesa"; A little further - "zoomarine".

Carvoeiro. - An ill-friendly Russian tourist territory, which is not degrading her advantages. There is no time a small fishing village today and today does not represent anything great, but the gorgeous surrounding area is completely covered with villains in greenery, tourist apartments and golf complexes. There are no high-rise buildings and crowded promenade lined in line, this is a zone for natural beauty connoisseurs. Small beaches have been fascinated here and there in fairy cliffs, and in the morning you will be celebrated by clicking chaps and the dwarfger of grasshoppers. Evening life is boiling in the center of the village, but already on the next street, nothing distorts your sleep. Beautiful place for family holidays, located away from the main roads. Nevertheless, the passage is quite convenient, and it is best done on the car. Bus timetable far from ideal, Zh.d. No lines. On the outskirts of the nearby (5km) Lagoa, there are several large supermarkets and the Slide & Splash Aquidusement Park, and it is sicked by civilization, you can ride in Portimao (15km).

Yes forgive me the inhabitants of other places, because there is no city in Algarve, than Portimao.. Located at the mouth of the Arade River, it embodies the perfect combination of urbanization and nature. Large and modern, it is impressive as high-rise buildings, avenues and bridges and its embankments, beaches, a variety of relief. The city leading active life is regardless of tourists, and therefore most hotels, apartments and enforcement institutions are concentrated in the coastal zone Praia da Rocha. With its grandiose beaches, and commercial centers, public institutions, exhibition and concert complexes, etc. Located in the philistine part of the city. However, this part (with its stems, fountains, numerous fish restaurants and a 2-kilometer promenade on the embankment of the river) is also popular with tourists. To come to Portimao by train or bus is equally convenient - both stations are located in the city feature. Airfield in Alvor is able to accept light and middle class aircraft. Portimao is conveniently located relative to the main roads, but at the peak hours, traffic jams are formed at the entrance to the city and key intersections. With free parking in the area of \u200b\u200bPraia da Rocha, there may be difficulties, but there are several multi-storey paid parking lots. Spacious beaches (they are located not only sunbathing people, but also platforms for volleyball, football, badminton), framed by intricate cliffs, stretch out 5 km, and from the berths, Marina began the beginning of numerous excursions on the grottoes, in the rover R. Arade, fishing etc. It is very interesting to explore the city and its surroundings on a bike or go along the river on the kayak.

In fact, today it is worth a conversation not only about Portimao itself, but also about gradually struggling with him suburbs. Sheltered on the eastern shore ARADE village Ferragudo. - One of the few who, disintegrating the taste of tourism, managed, however, to preserve a distinct appearance of the fishing village. The central part of it is very authentic, and the complexes of villas and apartments ergonomically fit into the coastal surrounding area. Here you are accompanied by space and fresh sea breeze everywhere, and the look from almost any place is invariably cling to the majestic types of "big brother" on the other bank of the river.

Alvor, although considered an independent administrative unit, has long been living closely associated with Portimao. Leaving the latter the development of urbanism, he himself more and more acquires a purely tourist look with many bars, restaurants, hotels and apartments. The most attractive of them are located in the zone between Alvor and Praia da Rocha and have direct access to the shore, but there are many excellent complexes in the depths of the territory (and it is not difficult to come to the beach on the car). The Alvor River at his mouth forms a wide Liman, which has gained huge popularity among lovers of Windows and kite-surfing, and a boat on fishing and sea walks are sent from the local harbor.

In the summer, the Moon Park is usually unfolded in the Praia da Rocha district, tournaments on beach volleyball and football, wine festival, evening show programs are held, night disco clubs, casino. 10 km on the east of Portimao is the water amusement park "Slide & Splash", and a 25-kilometer walk in the territory will give you the drunken mountain air of the MONCHIQUE Ridge and fascinating the view from its highest Foia point to the entire Barlavento.

Lagos. - The only place in the Algarve, where the developed tourist industry is perfectly balanced with historical heritage and natural beauty. In the late 90s Lagos even got into the top ten world resorts. No, not chic restaurants and multiberous hotels have become a reason, but then the inexplicable charm, which is experiencing each, for the first time hitting this city. Narrow streets and inappropriate clusters of the people on the central square, the quay of the canal with swimming past by yacht and a spacious view of the bay, unique cliffs and cozy beaches between them are a place for those who love to live not loudly, but tastefully. There is N-E the number of inexpensive residences in the old town, but the main part of hotels, tourist apartments, motels is put into sleeping areas. Lagos is quite popular with youth companies, many of which stop in the private sector and campsites. This is equally convenient to come on both the car and by train (this is the end station ZH. D. Branches) or bus. There are no traffic jams here, but it is quite problematic to be parked in the city center. There are several large supermarkets located on the outskirts of the city. In the summer, a corrida is held, but not very regularly, but by the number of organized entertainment lagosh there is no equal: sea cruises, fishing, dolphin safari, walks on grottoes, parachute riding, wind surfing, diving, etc. The neighborhood of the city is simply chic for fans of cycling and hiking; After halfway between the logo and Portimao, it is located on a road, where speed lovers can exercise in races on maps and serious sports cars. About 10 km in Northwest is a zoolagos zoo - small, but cute.

The west of Lagos begins the semi-sided places, mounted those who seek to escape from the human bustle to the greatness and omnipotence of nature. Settlements here, of course, there is, but you can move a lot of kilometers, not bumping into fences and without having a single person. In these places, the villages are most affected by tourists. Praia Da Luz, Burgao and Salema "All located directly on the beach with access to the beach," but there is a considerable amount of apartments and hotels (including a pension-rural type), are separate. Most of all those on the segment between Praia da Luz and Burgao. Here and only here you will feel the deepest unity with nature, and the silent stones will tell you the exciting stories from the life of our planet. Fresh sea breeze, the infinity of the ocean and impressive sunsets are three whales of this area. You can come here by bus from Lagos ... Provided that everything you need will bring with you - otherwise it is impossible to live without a car. From entertainment in these parts - Zoolagos Zoo near the village of Barao de s.joao; Beautiful diving places; On the beach Praia da Luz - all sorts of water fun (skiing, "bananas", scooters ...). Lovers explore new trails on foot and on a bike not to find the best places in all Algarve, and only here you will find almost deserted wild beaches.

Sagres.. If you are fond of surfing, then this is the most your place! Surfers are almost the only type of tourists inhabiting these places. Sagres itself has nothing remarkable, has several hotels and apartments, but most of the "sorvi-heads" arriving here will settle in low-cost residences, the private sector, campsite. The most suitable beach of Praia Do Martinhal, located next to the village, is mostly popular with Vind Serfan lovers. In the same bay there is a small fishing port. The beaches of the west coast with their majestic cliffs and almost endless winds are all at sufficient removal, and you can only get to them on personal transport. For non-superfers, only the remains of the medieval forty on the outskirts of the village and the "End of Light" are of interest (Cape St. Vincent) is 6 km away. However, for lovers of wildlife, places may be very attractive, including in terms of cycling. The bus route connects Sagresh with a logo, but has a not very rich schedule.

The described places are from the most popular among tourists, but they are not limited to accommodation. Algarve is a single organism with a developed infrastructure, and if your holidays are not limited to the lazy set of "Hotel Beach-restaurant", then with a car, a specific "landing point" can be selected with a scatter to 10-15 km from the basic settlements - principled There will be no difference.

Igor Pitovsky

Lagosh and Albufeira

Why did you unite two cities in one story? - It seemed to me that they were alike, and at the same time different. Looks like our narrow streets with a slightly cobblestone, architecture in the Mauritan style and endless white houses with patterned chimels. And everywhere equally hot.

Lagos (Lagos)

Lagos is the largest resort of Algarve.

Lagos will quickly reach the speed highway A22, you can take a little slower on the road N125 /

On the horizon of Mount Montoshik, but about it in another article.

There was no particular purpose of visiting the city of Lagosh, we decided to just take a walk. And so that there was some kind of purpose to find the church named after someone, I don't remember who.

An attempt to find parking in the center of the city was not crowned with success and we left the car on a great free parking near the ruins of the old fortress.

There was almost nothing left of the fortress, so she did not imagine much interest.

The town of Lagos himself made a favorable impression on me. Despite the heat, if you move around the shady side of the street, the walk will not end with a thermal blow.

There is no vegetation on the streets at all, maybe it is in the courtyards.

Many apartments offer their services.

In Lugosh, a large pedestrian street, which comes from the old fortress to the city center, but the streets are crossed, for which cars drive - be careful. Painted street with a very slippery stone, there is also attentive care here.

The house whose walls are fully lined with tiles.

On a pedestrian street, we hit the large area, in different directions from which streets disamed with a bunch of cafes, shops and souvenir shops.

On the central square there is a monument with the Maltese cross and the inscription Lagos, Xxxxx xxxxxx (reading in Portuguese we have never learned).

The streets are mostly pedestrian.

Rooster - the symbol of Portugal can be found everywhere.

Little difficulties arose with the search for the church. I concluded that the Portuguese most atheists and the church did not go at all and do not even know where it is. We asked several local where the church of someone is there, everyone was shown in different directions, he probably had her own, one beloved. It did not even help the address we knew. Finally, one old woman more less clearly explained and we went along the specified route.

The time of the Seside came, but most restaurants and shops continued to work.

We found it !! But like all the previous and subsequent churches - it was closed. Yes, it is difficult to be believers in the Algarve.

The church was located a local history museum, who, of course, was also closed.

Square and embankment near the temple.

Square is a monument to Enrique to the navigator. This enrique is completely mysterious for me a character. From the lessons of history, I know a sufficient number of Portuguese navigators and travelers: Vasco de Gama, Fernan Magellan, Bartolomeo Diash, Ashkobar Peru, and even Tristan, and Kunu. But I did not know anything about Enrique of the Marigree, who, by the words of Alargvians, was almost the only one who studied all the seas and oceans and drew the most accurate map of the world. Although, judging by the dates on the monument to each other, Enrique lived for about 500 years and during this time, you can definitely have a lot.

We went around the church around - accurately closed.

Not sublight from the church there is a small shop with wine and port. I liked the choice and prices did not seem very high, the sellers tried to help in choosing. Bought a few bottles of Portwine. As it turned out - quite good.

A little wondering we went to a long pedestrian street and went to the car. I liked the town definitely and one whole day deserves. Especially if it is not very hot. Arriving in Lagos, be sure to visit Don Ana and Cape da Pedada.

But I'll tell you a little here.

Cape and Pedada, Algarve.

If you drive through Lagos, and continue to go along the coast, then you are tranquil in a small lighthouse. Near the lighthouse there is a fairly large car parking. At the parking lot leave the car and go further to the cape da Pedada.

There are many sightseeing sites on the cape from where beautiful views are opening.

Unfortunately, the photos do not transmit scale seen.

There are many boats with tourists between large cliffs.

On the long stairs can be descended to the bottom. As I understood, there you can buy a tours on the boats.

A few more photos, there is nothing to tell, it needs to be seen.

Return back to the car. There is a toilet in the parking lot, which strikes with its purity and cafe, where we bought ice cream and ate it with pleasure. I am not a very big fan of ice cream, but it seemed to me that the Portuguese ice cream of the company "OLA" (hello) - tasty.

Albufeira.

As written in the guidebook, Albufeira is an old fishing village, in the Unod tourists turned into a beach recreation center and built-up with a lot of hotels.

Descents to the beaches in Albufear easier than Lugosh, and the beaches themselves stretch along the entire coast moving from one to another.

We could not find a free space in the parking lot near the central part of the city and left the car on a small street with one-way movement squeezing between two local cars.

The goal was to eat and walk.

The central part of the city is not at all big and not a hurry step, it can be circumvented in less than an hour.

The rest of the city is not much interest.

The central square of Albufeira, as in Lugoshe from her, there are little streets in different directions, where in almost every home a restaurant or cafe.

Despite a large selection of places where you can eat, we did not like anything, everything is somehow completely for tourists.

Rank almost toward the main street and found a less interesting institution.

The owner of the institution got into the photo, he dined with the neighboring table and the cook, which was fed. Lunch was satisfied with dinner.

All the same, she is the village and there is nothing to look there or we did not find that.

A little more walked and went to the car. Large trail in my soul Albufeira did not leave. Lagos is much more, interesting and pretty.

Since the conversation came about the coastal cities, we briefly focus on the same city - Portimao, (Portimao).

Portimao

Portimao is a major city, located at the mouth of the Arade River in the center of Algarve.

Through the Arade River, such a wonderful guy bridge will be transferred.

Portimão differs from the rest of the cities of Algarve. The city looks modern and fashionable. There are several large shopping centers in the city. There are McDonalds, that believe me is important if you have children (I know it is harmful). IN

Tunnel leads to the coast.

De Roca Beach is a big and beautiful beach in Portimao, pointers can be found for him not yet to reach the city.

Streets in Portimao wide and most direct.

Modern houses do not cause any desire to walk around the city.

Closer to the center you can find omnipresent little houses in the Mauritan style, but they are lost against the background of modern buildings.

At the mouth of the river Arade Parking for boats and yachts, on the other side of the river is located Ferragudo. You can move along the bridge.

Portimao produced a positive impression on us, but I would not want to relax there. This is the city in all its meanings.

I planned to tell about other cities of the Algarve coast, but I realized that this makes no sense: small cities and villages of the Algarve coast are very similar to each other and there is nothing to tell about them.
