Czech Switzerland Routes by car. Czech Switzerland - Czech Republic National Park

 • 03.02.2021

This reserve, who has no analogues in Europe, stretches from the town of Tis in the Estrodsky district to the Slunsky protrusion in the Decinsky district. The park was founded on January 1, 2000, and became the Czech continuation of the German National Park Sächsische Schweiz (Saxon Switzerland), based 10 years earlier (1990). Park Czech Switzerland is part of the vast natural complex of Labsk Piscovets, and the main object of protection in it is the characteristic sandstone phenomenon - the "rock sandstone" of Ethershovitsk and Decinsk Walls, and the associated biological diversity. Tourists love to visit the viewing platforms with unique views of the sandy rocks, bridges and castles created by nature. The park is popular with the fans of active sports: climbers, cyclists, rafting lovers and hiking.

Millions of years ago, the sea extended here. After killing, it left behind the unique edge of high sandstone rocks and towers, rock arches, ravines and mountains with truncated vertices.

Wildlife, which for a long time developed without human intervention, was discovered at the end of the 18th century two Swiss artists of the Romantic Epoch - Adrian Qingg and Anton Count. By depicting this edge on engravings and describing in verses, they quickly spread the fame of it throughout Europe. The places along the Canyon of the Elbe River turned into a cradle of modern tourism, becoming one of the first actively visited tourist attractions in Europe.

Over the most famous landscape players of all times, Kaspar David Friedrich came at the motives. The owners of the local places quickly understood the attractiveness of local dremal forests and romantic outlines of the rocks, they made a lot of effort to make these places more accessible by building roads and bridges. On the Mariana rock, the wall of Velgelma and Stone Rudolf were made steps, the benches were made, and on tops - arbors. Along the roads for tourists, new restaurants and places for overnight stay were opened, pleasure tracks appeared, and wild river Kamenites began to be used between the gorges.

For inspiration, not only artists came here. The fortress of knights-robbers, rocks, legends about the gnomes and faoney influenced the storyter of Gansa Christian Andersen, Poet R. M. Relil, composers KM. Von Weber, Richard Wagner and others.

And today, the right-hand gate is the symbol of "Czech Switzerland", conquer artists, such as snow-covered quiet rocks have become decorations for the film "The Chronicles of Narnia - Lion, a witch and a wardrobe." It was here that Lucy visited the cave of the Favna Tumenus, and all four brothers and sisters first switched through the rock bridge and looked at the endless forests of Narnia.

One of the main attractions of the Czech Switzerland, along with a righteous gate, is a romantic water walk along the quiet and wild canyons on the Kamenice River. It is about a short, but impressive boat trip with a gondoller between two sheer cliffs - places here so deeply that the straight sun rays almost do not come here.

Once it was a serious obstacle to residents of local villages. Once in 1877 in the restaurant "At Green Tree" (U Zeleného Stromu), the town of Genzko (Hřensko), five Obelchikov made a bet that on the raids would be inserted from the Dolsk Mill before the place that was then called the "end of the world". On the rafts of a length of 4 meters, they really got safely to Grrensk, in fact, becoming the founders of the tourist water route. Local Prince Klyari-Aldringen invited specialists from Italy, under the leadership of which the labor of over two hundred workers, these sites became accessible to the public. Here they were thrown out suspended walkways, tunnels were laid with explosives. On May 4, 1890, the solemn discovery of the "quiet" ("Edmondov") canyon took place. Since then, "at the very end of the world", actually, nothing particularly changed, the beauty of nature remains intact, and carriers, as over 130 years ago, are customized and sent their boats with sixtes.

Czech Switzerland is not only mystical landscapes of pine forests and picturesque valleys, majestic rock towers, gates, walls, gorges, rock cities and maze of mountains, but also an unusually beautiful Canyon River Kamenitsa, walk along which will leave an unforgettable impression.

Here it is - Czech Switzerland!

Czech Switzerland (České Švýcarsko) is the Czech part of the Elbian sandstone mountains, a fantastically delightful corner of nature, located in the Northern Czech Republic, not far from the border with Germany. Geographers believe that this area is obliged to be a unusual structure and beauty to the sea, whose water covered this territory is still in prehistoric times. On our planet, there are many interesting and picturesque corners, where hit once, I want to go back again and again. One of these corners is Czech (Bohemian) Switzerland or, as local, Saxon Switzerland.

This park was founded not so long ago, at the beginning of two thousandths. Its territory is about 80 square meters. km. When creating the country's authority, the country wanted to preserve the plot of untouched nature in the primordant state. And they succeeded. Here are stunningly beautiful places with minimal human intervention.

The base of the park is unique sand formations in the form of rocks. Rocks are covered with antique forests with rare plants. It is believed that the rocks were formed about 10 million years old, and over time when the water retreated, the rocks opposed the rock. These sandy sediments were compressed, mainly during the Mesozoic period under the influence of wind, the temperature difference and other natural phenomena.

Unique natural education is impressive with their painting: canyons, arches, windows, and so on. And in all this, the ruins of fortresses and other medieval buildings fit very harmoniously, which are beautifully preserved to the present day. Many photographers come here to capture the unique beauty of these places.

History

For the first time this territory began to settle the wool tribes of hunters and collectors about 10 thousand years ago. They settled mainly near the reservoirs. Until now, local residents after spring floods discover the ancient tools of labor and dishes.

A little later, farmers began to settle in these places, for whom the land along the tributaries of the river were the most fertile. Over time, people began to build walls to strengthen their settlements and even build forts whose ruins are scattered throughout the National Park.

In the 14th century, the Saxon colonizers who were engaged in logging were settled on these lands. In those days, there were real impassable thickets. They also settled here, in some places there were even ruins of whole settlements with a specific architecture.

But there are two Swiss restorers that were invited to Dresden to restore one estate. During the rest, they often walked along the modern territory of the National Park from Dresden and admired the beauties of these places. At the end of the work, it remained to live here, because local rocks were very reminded them of their native Switzerland. So the name "Switzerland" took place to this place. Since the end of the 18th century, this area has become called "Saxon Switzerland".

In the 19th century, local communities opened the first tourist routes for travelers. The Mountain Society of Bohemian Switzerland began to open here the first hotels and restaurants. Began to equip viewing sites and clear the most beautiful gorges. And on the River Elbe equipped everything for lovers to swim under the sail. In general, equipped with everything, for a comfortable holiday of tourists in these places.

Where is

Conditionally, the park is divided into German and Czech parts, which are separated by the border between the states and the River Elbe in the West of the park.

Czech Switzerland is located in the northern part of the Czech Republic, not far from the border with Germany and 40 km. from Dresden. The highest part of this park is the Mountain of the Dechin Snezhnik, a slightly over 700 meters high. The most popular tourist destination is the Rovenitsky Gate, which were formed at the expense of rains and strong erosion.

How to get

In fact, there are only two options to get into this fabulous place: on your own on a leased or own machine or with a tussing. The sightseeing tour can be bought in any travel agency. The cost of such a tour is from 30 euros and higher, depending on the number of people in the group. Also, separately will have to pay for visiting individual sights.

If you have to get yourself, then you can call in the park both from German territory and from the Czech Republic. You can call in the national park with different ways: both on the autobahn, and by simple roads. But it is necessary to use the card or navigator so as not to get lost.

Tourism

The entire territory of the park is marked by special tourist trails, to go from which it is impossible. Therefore, it is right at the entrance to buy a park card. All trails are laid available. There are even routes for cyclists. You can rent a bike immediately in the park. Also on the park there are zones for climbing.

Rest lovers in tents can spend the night in the reserve, but it is allowed in special camp areas. Walking through the park is allowed even with pets, so you can safely bring your favorite pets for walking.

For a more convenient stay in the reserve and search for places in the park, there are several tourist centers, which are located in different parts of the park. The main tourist center is located in Red Lipa. It works daily from 9.00 to the park closure. There is also information centers in Khrzhensko, Saul, Serbian Kamenice.

When traveling to Czech Switzerland, it is necessary to take comfortable shoes and clothing. It is unlikely easy to get to climb the mountain on heels or in narrow trousers. Be sure to grab a couple of bottles of water with you, since in the park water is much more expensive.

The basis of the reserve is the forests and rocks. But even except stunning landscapes in the park, architectural sights can be seen in the park.

The main attraction of the park is the arch of the Rovenitsky Gate. Gate are a symbol of the park. Tourists seek to see this colorful and non-manual heritage. From the observation deck near the arch, there is a stunning view of the canyon from below. But it is categorically forbidden to climb the arch.

Castle Sokhina Nest.

This castle is located near the right gate. It was built in 1881 by one noble Czech family, literally during the year. The castle walls are built into the rock, which gives him an extraordinary charm and simplicity. High-ranking guests have always taken here. In the castle, vintage interiors and a restaurant, decorated in the style of the Middle Ages. The view from the restaurant is stunning, but the menu is scanty, but with strongly overpriced prices for dishes.

The ruins of the castle Shaunstein

They are another picturesque place that deserves attention. Once in this place, the barons engaged in the disclaimer lived. The barons themselves did not build the castle, they simply captured the already built defensive fort and firmly settled in it by changing its name on the "castle of thieves". It is possible to rise to ruins through a narrow gorge on the sheer staircase, deployed through a break. Today, tourists come here to see the wonderful species that open from the observation deck in the ruins.

Dolsk Mill

This is another picturesque place, but it is in a dense forest, and it is impossible to see the surroundings from it. Fortress ruins are used as decorations in films. By the way, it is believed that it is thanks to the films this place and became famous. The mill acted since the end of the 14th century and for many years was destroyed, from the impact of natural phenomena. But declaring this terrain of the reserve, the restorers took the mill. And in 2007 the mill became the national architectural monument.

Royal Spirit

Not far from the Dolsk Mill there is an ancient spruce, the age of which is more than 180 years old, and the tree trunk has grown into a width of more than three meters. Spruce is guarded by a state at least than other monuments.

Castle Falkenstein

This is one of the oldest parks of the park. Built the castle was in 1394 on a high hill. This construction was built for the purpose of defense from the robbers. Close to the walls of this castle was very difficult. Many parts of this castle are perfectly preserved, as they were carved in the rocks. A few legends are connected with it, one of which states that the robbers who wanted to capture this castle were caught. Then hanged. And soon about the castle began to run furious dogs, which can be found today in the vicinity of the castle. Local residents believe that this is exactly the same robbers who are trying to take revenge on their killers.

Mouse hole

Such a strange name has a staircase that leads to the top of the hill through a narrow gorge. Steps at the stairs are a lot, and many tourists who go back, constantly screaming "Wow!". It is difficult to say why, but perhaps admire with their excellent physical form. Initially, this staircase local residents called the staircase of angels. But the owner of the estate did not like the name, and he renamed it in his own way.

Khrzhipsk

Everyone heard about Bohemian glass, but no one knows that it is not made in Bohemia, but the workshop in the Czech Switzerland in the village of Hrzhipsk. Silver and copper more than two hundred years have mined in mines. But the thirty-year-old war forced the owners to cover the prey. When a few decades later resumed, it turned out that it was already unprofitable and the mines were closed again. Today, there are excursion groups here, showing and telling in all details, as the process of mining.

What else to see?

 • Be sure to visit the city of Dechin, which is located in the vicinity of Czech Switzerland. The main attraction of the city is the Dechinsky Castle, built in the 8th century. At various times, the castle was a military-defensive structure, and the residence of aristocratic families and even monarchs. The city also has a small zoo and water park.

Video trip to Decin:

 • Khrzhensko is a small village from which all excursions begin to Czech Switzerland. It is a cute and very hospitable place where you can relax and drink a real Czech beer with German sausages. The village is located along the Kamenitsa River. The city is known for the fact that in almost every step they sell the gnomes for gardens, a variety of species, sizes, colors and for every taste.

A trip to Czech Switzerland is a privacy with nature, acquaintance with unusual sandy rocks and a wonderful chance to get acquainted with the sights created by Mother Nature.

We learned about the Saxon Switzerland quite by chance, Pasha stumbled upon an article with a description of the trip to Saxon Switzerland with impressive photos. I decided to see what it is and where. It turned out that the Saxon Switzerland National Park was located near Dresden, right on the border with Czech Republic. And from the Czech side, the Park is called Czech Switzerland.

The park is not very big, but there are many trekking routes in it and can easily spend at least a week. But thinking that the week of vacation is a non-disabilities, we decided that we would move to the Saxon Switzerland at a long weekend.

How to get to Saxon Switzerland?

The easiest way is the car. In this case, moving between routes and attractions in the park will be easy and convenient. The only negative routes must be planned or there / back or ring to return to the car.

Getting and moving around with public transport is also possible. With the German side, the closest major city - Dresden, with Czech - Prague. From both of them you can easily reach the park. But at the place in place to get to the start of the routes from the surrounding towns and settlements, you will have to know the schedule of local buses and trains.

Where to stay in the vicinity of Saxon Switzerland?

If you are by car, then this question is not so acute. From any village you can easily reach where you need.

If you are traveling public transport, then the Czech side will be a good choice will be Dechin (Děčín) or Grier (Hřensko). Dechin is larger, but it is necessary to go to the park. But directly from Grenzko, several routes begins, including one of the most famous to the Pravitskaya Bran (Pravčická Brána).

From Germany there are several options. If you want to visit the Bastani Bridge and stroll through its surroundings, then the best choice will be Rathen or Bad Schandau. If you want to walk along other routes of the park, then you need to choose something from the villages close to the route. Almost everyone has small family-owned hotels where you feel like a real German.

We needed to stay for two nights, on the holiday weekend plus we were on the car and were not tied to buses. Looking at the options on Booking.com and AirBNB (more about what airbnb we wrote in the article Airbnb - what is it? How to use and how to book housing in any city?), We have chosen accommodation at Airbnb in Decin, but while we thought this apartment Already passed. Therefore, the next reasonable, comfort and place was a room in the family-run hotel in Cesky Kamenice.

What to do in the Czech and Saxon Switzerland?

1 full day - Czech Switzerland

The route begins in the village of Mezni Louka) and smoothly gaining a height goes towards Roverty Tartsy. On the way there is a beautiful forest, rock walls, separate rocks remains - in general, very beautiful!

Further, Rover of Brand and the 19th century structure - a falcon nest. Entrance to surveillance sites 75 Czech crowns. On the official website you can check the opening hours and the current prices www.pbrana.cz. Most of the way you can see for free, so you decide whether to go to the paid part.

After this trail, you can go to the Men Lowki in the forest, and as we can continue the way along the canyon. There is a second route Divoká Soutěska and the second crossing - it will cost 60 Czech crowns. We really liked the trail, passes almost over the most mountain river, sometimes hanging. Around the beautiful rocks. On the first plot there is an attraction waterfall - you are brought to the wet wall, they tell some fairy tales, depends on the boat manager, and then ... unexpectedly with a waterfall fountain falls a powerful flow of water. Nobody expected this ...

While walking the boat, you will see not only a waterfall, but also beautiful wooden figures, each with its own history, you will show you interesting rocks that are like something or someone. The second part is less interesting, simply because it repeats the first. Although ... Can nature be repeated in such not ordinary forms - a controversial question. From the end of the second trail for another 20 minutes and we go out in the Mesni Louds, right to the central parking lot. By the way, Parking is the most expensive "entertainment" - 100 Czech crowns / 1 day.

Also, this route can be passed from Genzko. It is possible to go in the opposite direction, but I do not advise this as the rise from Genzko, long and monotonous, there is much better to go down to quickly.

2 day or half a day Saxon Switzerland and the famous Basian Bridge

Most often, the Basteistraße is starting to the Basteistraße (Basteistraße) - in this case, parking will cost $ 3 / day plus 1.5 € / person Shatla bass to the beginning of the route. The second option is the village of Rathen, almost all large parking lots are located in the most part of the village on the other side of Elba and you will have to use the ferry to get to the beginning of the route.

In the village of Rathen, which is located with the Bastai bridge on one shore, the entrance is allowed only to residents and customers of hotels. However, the car can be left in private parking, almost without reaching the village. Cost 3 / day.

Before the start of the route is 15-20 minutes for a pleasant forest. At first, the pointers gave us on the Bastaistrass, looking at the prices we returned to the thought that we would leave the car in the village very. But ... they saw a sign of prohibitive passage not to residents. Nearby was private parking for 3 €, but she was almost all busy. Near the sidelines were parked cars, the sign forbilling parking was absent. Of course we parked and went to the Bastai Bridge.

Bastay is a group of sandstone rocks, which, under the influence of time and nature, took a very beautiful and unusual form, also Bastay is famous for the Bastai bridge. Bastani bridge built in 1824 Goi and originally he was wooden. In 1851, the Bastani Bridge was replaced with sandstone bridge and so he stayed to this day.

If you have at least 3-4 hours, it is worth it not only to the Bastai bridge, but also stroll along the route further, go down to the Elbe and led the road to Rathen.

We were not lucky on the first evening, the weather was not very, but as soon as we began to rise to the bridge went raining ... For a short time, we threw a quick look at the bridge and went to place overnight stay. The second attempt was in the morning before the trip home. The sun was shining and the weather was just excellent. But here we had quite a bit, so we were limited to a campaign to the Bastai bridge and all viewing sites and back. Such a route took us about 2-2.5 hours a slow walk from the car. The route has an optional paid plot, cost 2 € / person. The route passes through the walkways between the rocks. There is a description of several historical parts, though they have little left from them. But beautiful views of the Bastani bridge and surrounding rocks.

By the way, the most famous photos of the Bastai bridge make with free viewing sites. True, fog or beautiful sunset / Dawn rays must be specifically to wait. Although maybe you are lucky?!

As the result, I want to say if you are in the surrounding area, and you will have a free 1-2 day, then you need to go to the Czech and Saxon Switzerland!

Saxony famous works of art, luxurious architecture of cities, old castles. This amazing land is rich in beautiful nature and cozy towns - resorts. At each trip, we try to diversify the program. The second day of our journey in Saxony decided to devote to natural attractions. The main goal of this day is a visit to the Saxon and Czech Switzerland national parks.

Four day route by Saxony read here:

Saxon Switzerland is just 50 km south-east of Dresden and 80 km from Maisna. And again here I will say about the benefits of independent travel. In the Saxon Switzerland, tourist buses on the way from Prague to Dresden are driven by the Bastai Bridge. But the Czech Switzerland is an unknown tourist facility for organized tourists. In the city of Genzko, the starting point in the route is mostly independent travelers, the starting point in the Czech Switzerland. We combined these natural parks in one day route. The road took place through the town of Pirna, where we drove on an hour. But first things first.

The second day of Saxony.

Maissen - Pirina - Saxon Switzerland (near Break) - Schandau Bad - Czech Switzerland (near Hrensko) - Dechin (overnight).

Pirina is a cozy resort town.

The first stop in our route was the city of Pirna. The town is 25 km southeast of Dresden on the banks of the Elbe River. According to the excellent German road, we did not notice how came to the Pitry.

First of all, we are looking for where to put the car. I really liked the organization of parking in this city, as in Germany as a whole.

Many parking spaces in the center, next to the old town. There are open parking, but we chose a storey parking. Interestingly, instead of a restaurant or hotel in the Pier, this 4-storey parking is built, about 80-100 cars.

Parking prices are available.

Inside everything is compact.

When returned - we paid parking in the cash machine at the entrance.

To pay the parking lots inserted a parking card to the slot, which was taken in the machine at the entrance (in the photo on the left). Paid in cash automaton in cash. As a result, received a check on payment. (in the photo on the right). When leaving it inserted a parking machine to the slot.

Walk through the old town Pink I took about 1 hour. But this time was enough to fall in love with the town. I would love to stay here for a few days. Well, how can this not impress?! the main square Marktplaz.

Pirina - Surprisingly colorful ancient Saxon shopping town. He is already about 8 centuries. The viewers of the popular German MDR television channel called the Pitina the second in the beauty of Saxony. Many tourists come to this resort town. The Parina is called the gate to the Saxon Switzerland - a national park with many hiking, climbing and cycling routes. Near the city a lot of vintage castles. There is a GEIBELTBAD PIRNA Water Park Pirna with pools and saunas for relaxes after an active holiday.

The pirgin is famous for good wine. From this city begins the tourist route "Saxon Wine Way", runs along Elba and ends in (the town that we told in the last article).

The Pirney has a large selection of good hotels, apartments, guest houses to find and book accommodation, just go to direct links below:

Favorable special offers and shares of Pardo hotels See in the form below:

A famous Pier also as a global sandstone supplier. Many buildings and sculptures in the city are made of this stone. Sandstone for the first time in the world became material even for the modern local playground. The blocks of Saxon sandstone from the Pier came in ancient times and now also in many countries of the world. Famous European imperial palaces were built of stone mined in the Pit. For example, luxury palaces, sculptures and churches of Dresden. The slogan of the modern city of "Pirna - Sandstein Voller Leben", which means "Pirna - Sandstone, filled with life."

Trading streets are heading from parking to the old town of Pier. The resort only wakes up. Some shops are still open.

Very original and cute souvenirs.

We go to the main square of the Old Town (Altstadt). It is called MarkTplatz. What does "Market Square" mean. Since ancient times, there were trading rows. Interestingly, the old quarter was restored relatively recently - in the 1990s. Many buildings were damaged during the bombing allies in 1945. The Pirina suffered greatly from flooding 2002 and 2013. But the city after flooding the waters of the Elbe is put in order again. Around the editorial German "Ordnung". All some kind of "elegant is a gingerbread", a very pleasant atmosphere.

On the square there is an ancient well, water flows from the crane. Is it possible to drink it, we do not know, but you can refresh the hot summer day))

In the center of the square rises Town Hall. She is in the photo on the left. The building was built in 1396. Many Town Hall century was a place to trade. There were shops of merchants, shoemakers, bakers, bakeries. Now this is an urban administrative building.

Over the main entrance to the Town Hall - ancient sunclock and coat of arms of the city of Pirna With red lions and golden pears on the tree.

On the other side of the Town Hall - a beautiful watch with a golden-black dial is visible. They also have a lunar calendar, depicted the phases of the moon. Under the clock - the coat of arms of the city of 1549, and below is the ancient Saxon coat of arms of 1555. They both are made of symbolic urban stone - sandstone.

White building Canalettohaus. With a pointed gothic roof and windows, it was built on Square in 1520. The house was named after the medieval Venetian landscape system, the court artist of the Saxon Kurfürst Friedrich Augustas III Bernardo Belllotto, known as Canaletto. He painted urban landscapes. Pirna liked so much that the artist in 1753 -55 devoted her 11 paintings to her. Some of these works are presented in the Dresden Gallery.

In this picturesque house on the MarkTplatz now - an exhibition of copies of Kranalet's paintings and a tourist center. In it, we took a free map of the city, which was built further route to walk through the Pit.

There is a very tragic and terrible moment in the history of the Pier. It is connected with the castle, which rises on a hill over the old town. Well, it can be seen from many streets and from the central square. In the photo - high on the white house of Canaletto. We do not plan to rise to him, but we will tell about his tragedy.

This is the zonnentsight castle, its name on the German Sonnenstein, literally translates as "Sunny Stone". Built castle on the mountain in the XIII century. From 1811 to 1942, a psychiatric hospital was placed in it.

During the Second World War, Zonnenstein's castle became a testing ground, which developed methods of mass destruction of people. It all started in 1934 after the arrival of the National Socialists led by Hitler. At that time, the ideas of "pure race" embodied in the country. As unsuitable sterilized or killed people suffering from hereditary, mental, severe diseases, disabled people. Officially, the process was called "Euthanasia" or "death for the benefit." Ettaelali in several medical centers and psychiatric hospitals in Germany. Among them was Zonnenstein. Methods were different: patients moored hunger, gave medicines in large doses, made deadly injections.

The Psychiatric Hospital Zonnenstein became one of the first, in which they launched the "Death Program T - 4", began to massively destroy patients in gas chambers. The Krematorium furnaces were immediately built. For two years, from 1940 to 1942, almost 15 thousand people were killed here, of which more than 1,000 prisoners of war. After such "tests", gas chambers for "pick-up" were installed in Auschwitz and other concentration camps. In 1947, the Chief Doctor and Sanitary Hospital Zonnenstein were sentenced to death.

Since 1970, a rehabilitation center for people with disabilities is operating in the castle. And from 2012 after the reconstruction, individual halls and garden of Zonnenstein are open to visitors. In the photo - on the horizon at the end of the street can be seen on the hill.

From Plaza Markplatz we headed to the main Municipal Church of St. Mary. This is a large beautiful Lutheran temple, erected in 1546. Its Gothic 60- meter tower is visible from afar.

Inside the church there are unique sights of the XVI century: the original 10-meter stone altar, a stone font for baptism with 26 miniature sculptures of children. They are created (as well as the whole temple) from local sandstone. Also in the Church of St. Mary, paintings are kept 1544-1546 with plots from the Bible and ancient body. Classical music concerts are held in the Church.

It can be seen that the town of the resort - late wakes up. We could not get to the Cathedral of St. Mary. It turned out that it opens only at 11-00. The morning resort page along with shops and cafes only wakes up (and this is 10! In the morning).

The main entrance to the city church of St. Mary.

Walk through the morning pier is very pleasant. Tourists only wake up and you can enjoy almost deserted streets and city squares. Around many vintage houses. Each of them has its own history, keeps its secrets.

In an old building in the photo on the right is now a restaurant, and in the Middle Ages from 1578 here there was a pharmacy "Golden Lion".

Over the entrance to the house - the figure of the Golden Lion and the memorable plate. She is devoted to the hero of the Pier - the city pharmacy of the Ferofil to Jacoberu. It says: "T.h lived here. Jakobaer is the Savior of our city on September 25, 1659. " During the 30-year war, the Swedish troops captured the Pirina- all robbed, destroyed, mocked the inhabitants. They planned to burn the city. The pharmacist, having learned about it, went to Dresden and turned to the Saxon Princess Magdalene, a friend of Queen Sweden, with a request to cancel the decision to destroy the city. The Pirina was saved, and Feofil Jacober became a hero and received privileges in a pharmaceutical and brewing reward.

The city library Pirna is located in the old house of the XVII century. On the entrance - the portal with a lion's head of 1770, carved from Saxon sandstone.

On many buildings, the Pier can see the exquisite vintage balconies. They have been preserved from 16-17 centuries.

And in this house, on the way to the resort, Marienbad stayed in April 1813. Famous German poet Goethe. In 1925, the leader of the German communists Ernst Telman spoke with a speech.

This original monument is installed in the Pier recently. It is devoted to the most outstanding citizens of the city in his entire history: Burgomaster, first bishop, trumpeter, merchants, ordinary people who performed their work every day.

An interesting city museum Pier is located in an ancient building of the Dominican Monastery, founded here in 1300 (address - ul. Klosterhof 2/3).

The Dominican Monastery and the Church of St. Heinrich were restored and became valid for parishioners in the 1990s.

High Stella was erected at the Pier on the orders of the Kurfürst of Augustus in 1722 on her coat of arms of the royal family. By the way, it is depicted in the pictures of Cantelto. On this post, the old names of different German cities and distances towards them from the Pirina in the clock were knocked out. 1 hour is approximately 4.5 km. For example, to the German town Annaburg - 25 hours, or almost 112 km. Before MEISEN, from where we came today, 17 hours or 76 km. An interesting distance measurement system))) Everything is logical, most practical at that time information about the number of time on the way. Why in the XVII century these kilometers))

Germans care about ecology, electric bikes were added to electric vehicles. Here is free charge for such bicycles.

Acquaintance with the cozy resort town of Pirina left warm impressions. And we are going to the natural sights of Saxony. Moved across the bridge. On the way we consider the modern part of the Pier already on the other side of the Elbe.

Saxon Switzerland. Bridge Bastai.

Saxon Switzerland - National Park with a stunningly picturesque mountain landscape 30 km south-east of Dresden. It covers a territory of 9.5 thousand hectares on the border of Germany and the Czech Republic. His neighbor is the Czech Switzerland National Park. Both park is part of the ELB sandstone mountains, which are part of the eastern ore mountains.

Where does such a name and what have "Switzerland". Until the XVIII century, this area was called "Maisen Plateau." Swiss artists Anton Count and Adrian Qing, who taught in the Dresden Academy of Arts, chose these places. Mountain terrain over the Elbe with the gorges, waterfalls and old castles resembled them their native Switzerland and the Mountain Array of Yura. Hence the name "Saxon Switzerland".

For such beauty, we arrived here)))

In the 1800s, Swiss artists traveled here themselves and invited other landscape players for inspiration and beautiful species. In the Saxon Switzerland, the Master of Brushes and photographs go today. Along the park, through all major natural and architectural attractions, one of the most beautiful tourist routes of modern Germany Malerweg stretches for 112 km, which means "artists trail." It opens up the most exciting views of the surrounding landscape. Interestingly, in 2016 it entered the top three of the most popular routes of the world.

In the XVIII century, tourists and climbers stretched here. Shops, restaurant, hotel opened for them. In 1824, the famous Bustay bridge was built between the cliffs. Today he is one of the most popular attractions of Saxony.

It is convenient to get to the Bastai bridge by car, it can also be made by train S-Bann to Raten or G. Wehlen, by bus from Pirina (№237, 238) and Schandau Bad (№253), or in the summer on the ship from Dresden. If you are traveling by car, it's easier and faster to get to the Saxon Switzerland park through the Lomen's town. What we did.

According to the signs, we drove to parking near the main entrance to the park. Parking costs 3 euros. Entrance to the Saxon Switzerland Park is free. The fee is taken only for a walk along the remains of the fortress of the XIII century Neurathen. It is bridges between the mountains on the Bastai Bridge. The price of us is 4 - 12 euros.

Helpful advice: For a walk through the Saxon or Czech Switzerland, comfortable clothing is required, buried shoes, water, and a headdress is desirable. Although it was hot, we all moved to sports sneakers. In the parks a lot of stony trail.

Next to the parking lot is the entrance to the Saxon Switzerland National Park. Here are information stands with cards and information about the park in different languages.

We turned off the main road on the side path. This is such an exciting panorama opened. The mountains of such an elongated shape with a flat top and steep edges are called tables. One hundred million years ago, in the Mesozoic Era, in this place was the ancient ocean. Sand saddled onto hundreds of meters and a few layers. When the ocean water left, the volcanoes split the sandy bottom on many parts. Completed the formation of a unique landscape water and wind.

The main track led us to the hotel, souvenir shops and restaurants. In 1812, the first restaurant was built near the Bastai Bridge, a little later - Hotel Berghotel Bastei. This hotel has a rich history, excellent reputation. Today Hotel Berghotel Bastei is the owner of numerous awards. It is considered one of the best in Saxony.

Even for dogs there is a service)))

A few stony trail begins for the restaurant and the hotel, there are many steps, all are equipped with railings. Although you go between the peaks of the mountains, you feel safe (this is information for those who are afraid of the height))). And we look down and the circle - the spirit captures from unreal beauty.

First of all, they went to the viewing platform with stunning "card" species. It is located on a high rock, which rises 194 m above the Elbe. It was we dreamed of seeing when you planned a trip!

People on the playground like herring in a barrel. Purchased to the railing. "Photo of dreams" on the background and alone is a rare luck here. And this is on a weekday. Where without "pink blouse" in the background))).

Lilientein Mountain is the largest dining area of Saxon Switzerland. On the right of it on the mountain smaller the fortress of Königstein is towers - a powerful fortification structure of the XII century. At different times, she served as a defensive fortress, a monastery, prison, camp prisoners of war and the storage of Dresden Gallery paintings during World War II. In Koenigstat, the prisoner of the fortress Alchemist Johann Betherr, concluded in it on the orders of the Kurfürst of August, in 1709 invented the first European porcelain. From this it began production of the famous fortress Königstein - a popular tourist attraction of Saxony.

Picturesque elderly elba. Below is visible ferry crossing and two shores of the city - Resort Ratan. This little ancient town is a climatic resort. Here is the clean air, a calm atmosphere, the unique nature of Saxon Switzerland with mountains, waterfalls, Amselsee Lake, Rhodhenthrone Park, near the ancient fortress Königstein, Stolpen and Lomen, Waterfalls, Bastai Bridge, Miniature Railway Bridge, Summer Ratensky Theater among the rocks.

A ferry in Ratene is a unique eco-friendly type of transport, which still works on the technology invented by the Dutch back in the XVII century. It moves without a motor and without contaminated the nature of exhaust gases. This is a cable ferry. It is held on a long cable, which stretches for several hundred meters upstream along the river and secured by the shore.

The ferry regularly walks from one shore Ratne to another. It is convenient for independent travelers who come here by train. a boat from Dresden or stopped in hotels Ratren. To get from Raten to Bastai Bridge, you need to twist the Elbe on the ferry. A ferry ticket costs 1 euro (children. 0.50 euros) in one direction, both sides - 1,8o euro (children 0.80 euro). Further according to the famous "trail of artists" you need to rise to the Bustay bridge. The rise in a steep path with numerous steps can take 30-60 minutes, depending on your physical form.

And we continue walking along the paths and steps of the park. Another bridge and wonderful panorama of Saxon Switzerland.

Do you remind you of these mountains? The famous noble shade of palaces and churches! They were erected from Saxon sandstone, which was mined in this area. The mining of the stone was such a pace that the existence of a bask and surroundings were under threat. In the XVIII century, people rose to protect the unique mountains. The reserves were gradually created, and after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Union of Germany, this territory was united into a huge Saxon Switzerland National Park, and in the neighboring state - Czech Switzerland National Park. Now the original natural landscape under the protection of the state, and sandstone mining is regulated by law.

The famous Bustay bridge towers 40 meters above the gorge. His 7 arches organically fit into the mountain landscape. The length of the 76.5 m bridge is such a long observation deck with great views on the surroundings! The first wooden bridge was built in this place in 1924. Over time he dreamed, on the boards it became dangerous to walk. For two years in 1854, a new stone bridge from local sandstone was erected.

Bestai Bridge is one of the most visited attractions of Saxony. There are always a lot of tourists.

Original round observation deck on the bridge. Miraculously photographed without tourists on the background))

On the rocks - memorable plates.

On the other hand, the Bastai bridge is behind the wooden frequency of the remains of the Czech castle of the XIII century neurathen. (The entrance is paid here - 3 euros). He guarded the borders of the Czech Republic and trading paths on the Elbe. It was one of the biggest impregnable fortresses of that time. She occupied a territory of 700 long and 100 m wide. On the flat vertices of the rocks, interconnected by bridges from logs, fortifications were built. There was also a lifting bridge here. The castle was destroyed by a fire of 1469. Since 1485, he moved from the Czech Republic to possess the Saxon Marcgrafy Meissen. Now it has practically nothing has been preserved: the remains of the walls, the ancient vault of water, the catapult and the large stone kernels who were fired at something from the height of the enemies fortress.

From the tracks of the castle of the Neurathen fortress (in the photo on the right), amazing views of the surroundings are open.

Beautiful pictures of the nature of Saxon Switzerland and from the Bastai Bridge.

Saxon Switzerland is very popular among climbers. Alpinist is visible?

And he is))

Although tourists there are many here, so sometimes there was a traffic jam on paths, but the park must be visited. Saxon Switzerland is very cozy, beautiful and unusual.

We are moving to the next goal of today's day route - Czech Switzerland. The road passes through the resort town of Bad Schandau. It is known for excellent rehabilitation and wellness sanatoriums, WellNesSs - centers, healing ermal baths, good resorts. Interestingly, Bad Shandau is the smallest city in the world in which the tram is walking. Even in Schandau Bad (Ul.Dresdner Str. 2 b) is the information center of the Saxon Switzerland National Park. This is an interactive exhibition that tells about the flora and fauna, about the history and modern day of the park.

We enter the city of Bad Schandau.

The road passes along the elba.

Stopped in a local supermarket, scaled German beer and goodies at good prices. For example, a bottle of 0.5 liters of the famous Saxon beer Radeberg costs about 0.5 ° C. For comparison, a bottle of coca-cola is twice as expensive))

Here is a view from the parking lot of the supermarket on the Elbe.

And here we are again in the Czech Republic. Former CAT on the border of Germany and the Czech Republic. Now Elba changes the name - sounds on the Czech "Labe"))) The road here is very picturesque: on the one hand, the water of the Laba River, and on the other hand the cliffs of the Elbian canyon will come.

Czech Switzerland, or lost in a notched world.

At the border with Germany, the Saxon Switzerland Saxon Switzerland National Park was spread out. This is part of the Elbian sandstone mountains in the Czech Republic. Stunning nature, a unique mountain landscape, deep gorge, cave, clean air, silence, a lot of hiking and cycling routes, vintage locks and authentic homes, fabulous sculptures and local legends - this is what is rich in the Czech Switzerland.

We arrived in Hřensko (Grier, Czech Republic). It is called the gateway to the Czech Switzerland National Park. The town is 55 km from Dresden, 130 km from Prague, 40 km from Bastay Bridge in Saxon Switzerland and just 10 km from Decin, which is planning to stay for the night.

What is unique in Grensso: This is the lowest terrain in the Czech Republic. The city is located just 115 m above sea level, although thanks to the surrounding rocks, there is no such feeling. Nature and climate around Grenzo are also unusual - mountain plants feel great in lowlands. Exotics adds the fact that there are more Chinese in this town than local residents. What do the Chinese do here? And sell souvenirs and Chinese clothing.

Grierzko consists almost from one street along a small rchushwa of Kamenice, which flows into Laba.

Very colorful architecture of vintage houses Genzko. Next to the luxurious palaces are the hotels of the XIX century, there are accurate rural houses with older ages under the hanging cliffs.

The town was founded here in the XV century. By Elbe, a large shopping Czech path ran. At first there was Korchma in the place of Genzko, where merchants and sprayers of trees have come to relax and eat. After the storage facilities and wood, salt and glass workers built their huts. From the 18th century, Grèzko became a major trading city. In these places, the wood was harvested and recycled, grumbled on three large mill mills grain, sandstone was mined, traded mushrooms, salt, charcoal, and even smuggled smuggling. In the summer of 1838, the first steamers began to run on the Elbe.

On the left in the photo - the ancient buildings of Jershno and the Church of St. Yana Neumber, erected in 1787

Only in the XIX century, the enterprising owner of the pool Prince Edmund Clari - Aldringen realized how attractive for tourists his land. He began to actively develop the tourist destination. In the 1830s, hotels, innings were built in Genzhsk. In 1862 there was a firm in the city that sold photos and postcards with the sights of Genzko.

In 1879, the Mountain Community Czech Switzerland was created. Its members were built and equipped with railings, steps, benches, bridges, tourist trails and viewing platforms, also published popular magazines, conducted meetings. In 1898, two gorges with bootiers were opened for visitors. During World War II, a branch of the Hitler's Aviation Plant worked at the Genzk Stands. The city and park Czech Switzerland were revived for tourists after 1964, when the trails and gorges were opened after the reconstruction.

One of the famous sights Park - Rovel Gate, or Rover Brana, on Czech - Pravčická Brána.. This is a huge sandstone arch, which formed millions of years ago Natural "sculptors" - volcanoes, water, wind. Its maximum height is 21 m. The 8-meter bridge Arches connects two sandy mountains. The path to the right-way brane was opened for tourists since the 1830s. Interestingly, a famous storyteller Hans Christian Andersen rose here.

Near the castle "Sokolino nest" 1881. The former Summer Residence of Prince Edmund Clari - Aldringen, the founder of the tourist destination in the development of Czech Switzerland. The castle was erected for the year Italian wizards on the spot wooden beer. Now here on the second floor - the Museum of the National Park, and on the first - a restaurant, which survived the original painting of the walls. With the PRIVITSA BRANA offers a wonderful view of the surroundings.

Many sources argue that this is the largest "natural bridge" in Europe and the world, but we have seen more on. On about. Gozo is a azure window. The stone arch rises above the sea on 28 m. The numbers sound dryly, but nothing to compare the delight and surprise when you see such an incredibly powerful and majestic natural structure.

Malta, oh. Gozo, azure window

Here is the most difficult moment for those who are first going to Czech Switzerland. And if everything is definitely definitely (except for time on the way), we "hit" with the gorges. All optimal walk routes We will show you on the map. In the meantime, we will tell about our adventures in Czech Switzerland. We called them "Lost in the Lost World."

Put the car on the first parking lot. A pleasant woman - a ticket that perfectly understood Ukrainian, gave us a map-card of Czech Switzerland. We warned that we park for 2 hours. (Judging by the map ... Oh! Optimists.!))) She smiled and said that this is not enough, but you can pay for the parking lot then.

Here is the map of Czech Switzerland, which we got. She is in German and Czech languages.

When we planned a route for Czech Switzerland, read reviews of other travelers. Many walked over a large circle: from point 1 - through all points - to clause 6. Everyone wrote that the walk takes a lot of time, but nobody said nothing, looked like this: "Passed, looked." The only thing they wrote is the day everything has time. But since we arrived after lunch, and were in the mountains of the Saxon Switzerland, then Item 2 (Brama) decided not to inspect. We wanted to walk the city of Gzzzhensko from paragraph 6 (parking) and ride a boat in the Edmund gorge between paragraph 5 and 4. And then return to the same route or go to the stop in s. Intello and come to parking by bus.

"Underwater stones" this toarts .

 1. It does not notice where the rise or the descent is inconvenient when planning the route.
 2. The distance in km is shown only on the roads, and the length of all hiking routes is measured in minutes, not in meters or kilometers. Here and "trick".

Practice has shown that walking along the route is in reality at least two times longer than the time written on the map. Consider also that in the way it takes a little time in the photo - pauses, because around amazing beauty.

3. What does a person feel when the expectations are deceived? An unpleasant feeling of confusion, fatigue from waiting and irritation from the fact that everything is not true in reality. These are our feelings during the passage of the second half of our route, when the information on the map did not coincide at all with reality. Therefore we were "Lost in the Lost World."

And now everything is in order. Our example of how the route is not worth going. "Ti there is not Hadi, Ti Hadi")))

Genzko is an interesting town. With pleasure, his only street, looking at home and funny garden figures, which are sold along the road.

Mi in anticipation. The bridge and the hotel Pension Soutěsky (right in the photo) begins a beautiful path to the gorge. The car could also be parked here, but so we looked better in Genzko.

At the beginning of the trail - an information booth with a map, distances, timetable work of boats and their last departure so that the tourist does not step in vain. It is written everything optimistic))) Here you can see that the first yellow plot of 1 km long takes 20 minutes. In urban mode, we go faster. But here something went wrong. We passed it to the gorge and boats for 50 minutes (this is true of parking, from it - 1 km).

They crossed the bridge over the Kamenice River.

After it begins a forest path. It is equipped with railing, steps, benches.

Interestingly, until the XIX century, a mountainous terrain with the gorges along the River Kamenitsa called End of the world. When the trails ended, the locals were afraid to go further into a dense forest, full of secrets and legends. Well, what is not a fabulous lost world?!

Around unreal beautiful.

Here you want to sit down and just enjoy the tranquility, the murmur of water, the singing of birds, the greens of the forest in the sun's rays.

And the forest path along the stone gorge along the river does not end.

Well, finally, the place of landing on the boat is seen. The trail is interrupted and move along the route only by water.

The history of these boats and the River Gorge Kamenitsa from the dispute began. In 1877, five of the cumulatives, drinking thoroughly in the Grreno tavern, put a bet that walle on a stormy river on the rafts. Three rafts confidently overcame the distance. After that, the owner of local lands Prince Edmund hired Italian workers and built walkways, bridges, tunnels, dams. In 1890, it was revealed for tourists to swim on the boats on the first gorge of 500 m. At first it was quiet, now he is in honor of the prince called Edmund's gorge. After a few years, the second - wild gorge equipped, the length of the route on it is 250 m. Then tourists rolled on boats with a beautiful forms of sailors.

Today we swim on the first Long Gorge of Edmund. At the checkout bought tickets. On our family tickets are 9 euros. A walk takes only 20 minutes.

The cashier ask how to do us, far and long after the boat to paragraph 4 - p. Intermune? He says - no, there is close. Indeed, Zigzag is drawn on the green left route map and is written for 15 minutes. We had two options 1. Go back the boat, pay 9 euros again and again step 50 minutes to parking. Or 2. - View more Czech Switzerland. We chose a second option: after the boat fuse 15 minutes and 500 m (if you believe the map) to the village of Intersa, sit there on the bus and return to the parking lot. (It was still possible to go further along the yellow route, sailing on a boat on a wild gorge and go to the village. Integrie Luka and a bus, but it would be much longer).

The boat walk was very cute and soulful. The boatman in three languages (eng. Chekhh.rus.) Tell funny and funny stories about the gorge, mysterious legends.

From the banks of us were watched by local fabulous residents. Good and not very))

And where there was no sculpture, everyone turned on fantasy. After all, the outlines of rocks and stones are very similar to fabulous characters.

Snake see?

The boatman pulled over the rope and watered from the walls of the waterfall gorge. He pulled the second time - no waterfall.

The walk turned out to be interesting. Sailed to the boat station. On the pier there is a restaurant. Here you can have a snack and relax.

Prices in Czech crowns.

On the way, washed, freshed in the river.

The path leads through the tunnels.

These tunnels drunk in the rock specially invited from Italy workers. They were called Zaravva. They were famous masters of mining in the Alps. In the formation of tunnels used special technology - the rocks were heated in winter, then cooled sharply water. So the stone walls crashed and succumbed to processing.

This place reminded me of another stone gorge in Austria - Liechtensteinskoe. Read about him here:

It turned out, we were waiting for the rise, remember Zigzag on the map? It was not a simple rise, but very cool and long. Such an impression that we rose to the skyscraper. And we went serpentine by such stairs.

Well, we think, they will be cheated, soon we will sit on the bus. But when the stairs are over, the lifting still continued on forest paths. 15 minutes have passed a long time ago, and it is not visible to the ease)) looked around, downstairs the Kamenitsa River Gorge.

And when we finally got to the village of intersa, to the restaurant, the forces finally left us. The time from the boat station to this finish is left again 50 minutes. The lifting was spent 30 difficult and long on the sensations of minutes, and it was announced 15.

Judging by the map, there should be a bus stop. But the waiter of the restaurant and several people did not know anything about it. Strange! Stop we still found 100 m. We sat, rested, waited. Sold the schedule and realized that buses here are very rarely and the nearest wait 3 hours. We decided to go to the village of Intersi Luka - this is about 2 km. The asphalt road went on flatly beautiful terrain.

When they came to another stop in with. Intelli Luka near the parking lot, read the schedule and realized that there would no longer be buses today))) and to the griege another 6 km stump. There was no strength to go, everyone was tired. Thought to include "Plan B": I need a hitchhiker to get to the parking lot and returned for your own on our car. Let's go to the main road. And here, in front of the hotel Mezní Louka, another stop was found, and a bus was waiting for a lot of tourists. Hooray! We are saved! While the bus was waiting, the children were entertained

By bus we got to your typewriter. Our walk across the Czech Switzerland took about 3.5 hours. Adventures that we will never forget! Now I remember with laughter))) But only thanks to such a difficult walk, we will be able to help other travelers plan the route in the park. Here they will not be taken out organized tourists, because they are not actually assembled))) After all, it is easy to become "lost in the lost world"))). Of course, if you do not know how to optimally and correctly build a route.

Routes on Czech Switzerland.

There are a lot of foot and bicycle in the park. It is difficult to get lost - there are many pointers everywhere. On the main roads marked with white color on the map, buses walk. Stop - icon Bus. On the plan. You can combine a hiking route with a bus trip. We will show on the map routes to the main attractions of the Czech Switzerland.

Route to Roverty Bran.

This route for those who want to enjoy the mountain landscapes of Czech Switzerland. On the map - point 2 and brown route. On the turn from the main road - the pointer to Pravčická Brána.. Nearby - paid parking and stop "Three sources". From here optimally start the rise. The length of the route from turning to Brane is 3 km, on the map duration - 45 minutes. In fact, calculate that the rise will take an average of 1 hour and 20 minutes with photo pauses on the road. The whole route along with a walk on the right-hand brane and returning the same way It may take approximately 3.5 - 4 hours. (If you go from Genzko - paragraph 1 or paragraph 6. - Add distance and time to the calculation.)

Route to the gorges.

It is suitable for those who want to see the "Lost World" of the River Kamenitsa and ride the boats in the gorges. But it will also have to walk a lot too)) we divide it for three options: 1. Easy version of the Edmund gorge (+ at the request of the wild gorge), 2. The Gorge of Edmund, 3. Wild Gorge + Edmund Gorge.

Option 1 - Easy and simple route on boating gorges.

We float on a boat for 20 minutes one way, relax in the restaurant (optional), returning the boat back - another 20 minutes. Walking back to Grenzko - about 50 minutes.

B) You can add your walk to boat riding in the second - wild gorge paragraph 4.In this case, calculate that for the whole walk on two gorges you need about 4 hours, excluding recreation in the restaurant. From the station to the Edmund gorge to the boats of the wild gorge, go 30 minutes there and 30 minutes ago. Boat swimming will take 15 minutes there and 15 minutes ago.

Tourists B. Excellent !!! physically actually go through the entire route in Czech Switzerland from paragraph 1 and to paragraph 5 During the day, visiting Ruthitzka Bran and the gorge. But it is better to break the way for 2 days))

Decin. Czech Republic.

We stopped in the ancient Czech town of Děčín. It is just 15 km from Genzko and Czech Switzerland. Based the city in 993 the princes of Prezhysovitis - the first kings of the Czech Republic. We wrote about them in this article about Prague:

By the way, information for tourists without a car, through Decin, the railway branch of Prague - Dresden passes. And hence it is convenient by bus or boat to the Czech Switzerland.

Dechin inspected from the car window. Very cute vintage town.

Drive up to Central square of the Old Town.

And that's Dechinsky Castleerected in the XIII century over the Laba River. This is the main attraction of the town. Since the XIX century, the castle was the cultural center of the region. They owned representatives of the influential genus Tunov. Here they took many eminent writers, artists, composers, among them Walter Scott and Frederick Chopin, who wrote a dechin waltz. Guests impressed with a huge orchid garden. He was considered one of the largest in Europe. Now on the alleys of the castle you can see a beautiful rosary - Dechin pink garden.

Next to the Dechinsky castle we booked this apartment - Czech Switzerland Castle Apartments.

Studio apartments in an old house on the 3rd floor, with kitchen and free parking in the yard. An elevator raises the floor. We recently reserved apartments with a balcony. In the photo - right. On it - Salad chairs.

We were met by the owner - a pleasant cheerful guy David, showed housing and told about the most interesting sights and surroundings. The apartment really liked. Everything is clean and gently, the original interior.

On the first floor - a cozy cafe with sweets and drinks. In the fountain, kids joyfully spruce. The road is a small lake. View from our balcony.

Dechinsky castle we consider from the balcony of the apartments. It was no longer on his visit to his attendance))) It is a pity that we underestimated the tourist potential of the Dechin and stopped here for just one night. The city also has a zoo, aquapark, ancient buildings, ancient bridges, 15 km - the largest mountain of Czech Switzerland - Dechinsky Snezhnik. David in the apartment has a lot of brochures with a description of the routes and attractions of the Dechin.

Forces enough only for a trip to the supermarket, to replenish the reserves of food the next day and buy something for dinner and breakfast. But even on the way to the supermarket and back, we managed to get around the lake.

On the opposite of the apartment, a restaurant "Factory" found, which David recommended.

But we have for this family evening Other plans: Czech Knedli, Cold German Rafeberg Beer and a chic view from the balcony.

The next day, we are waiting for the road to Budapest with a race for 3-4 hours in the capital of Slovakia Bratislava.
