    What to do if your flight is canceled

    If the flight is canceled more than 24 hours before departure, then passengers are transferred to similar flights of the airline. The costs are borne by the carrier, the service is free for the passenger. If none of the options offered by the airline suits you, most airlines can issue a “ forced return". After confirmation by the airline, the money will be returned to your account. This can sometimes take several weeks.

    How to check in at the airport

    Online check-in is available on the websites of most airlines. Most often it opens 23 hours before the start of the flight. You can pass it no later than 1 hour before the departure of the plane.

    To check in at the airport you will need:

    • the identity card specified in the order,
    • birth certificate when flying with children,
    • printed itinerary receipt (optional).
  • What you can take with you on the plane

    Carry-on baggage is items that you take with you on board the aircraft. Weight norm hand luggage can vary from 5 to 10 kg, and its size most often should not exceed the sum of three dimensions (length, width and height) from 115 to 203 cm (depending on the airline). Ladies' bag is not carry-on baggage and can be carried freely.

    The bag that you take with you on the plane should not contain knives, scissors, medicines, aerosols, or cosmetics. Alcohol from duty free shops can only be carried in sealed bags.

    How to pay for baggage at the airport

    If the weight of the baggage exceeds the norms established by the airline (most often - 20-23 kg), you need to pay for each kilogram of excess weight. In addition, many Russian and foreign airlines, as well as low-cost airlines, there are tariffs that do not include free transportation baggage and must be paid for separately as an additional service.

    In this case, baggage must be checked in at the airport at a separate Drop-off check-in counter. If you are unable to print your boarding pass, you can get it at the airline's regular check-in counter, and check in and drop off your baggage there.

    Where to find out the time of arrival if you are a greeter

    You can find out the time of arrival of the aircraft on the airport's online scoreboard. The Tutu.ru website has an online scoreboard of the main Russian and foreign airports.

    You can find out the number of the exit (gate) on the arrival board at the airport. This number is located next to the inbound flight information.

    • Before railway station you can also take a minibus number 312, the interval of movement is every 5-20 minutes, depending on the time of day.

Completed in the late 1990s international terminal, the construction of which was suspended and postponed for several years due to the misuse of funds.

In 1999, Tolmachevo Airport JSC separated the refueling service into a separate company, creating Airport-Service CJSC. It was originally planned that Tolmachevo would have a controlling stake of 50% + 1 share, and the rest would belong to Sibneft. However, after the registration of the enterprise, the airport management found out that the controlling stake was registered with Sibneft. There was no way to restore the desired balance. In the course of lengthy legal disputes, Sibneft proved the legality of the creation of this enterprise. In December 2003, the airport sold this block of shares, fearing that it would be arrested due to the claim of RosAviaConsortium.

In 2003, Siberia Airlines, dissatisfied with fuel prices, decided to eliminate the Aeroport-Service monopoly and build its own refueling complex... It cost several million dollars and had a capacity of 18,000 tons of kerosene. In January 2004, construction was suspended due to an investigation by the State Inspectorate for Architectural and Construction Supervision, initiated on the basis of a statement from the airport.

In 2005, the expansion of the domestic terminal began. The first telescopic ladders at the airport were installed in it, especially necessary in winter.

On December 19, 2005, the Industrial Development Group signed a program for the reconstruction and expansion of the airport, a program for the development of the airport until 2010. The program provides for an investment of $ 280 million. The company has already bought the necessary plots of land near Tolmachevo, including the unfinished refueling complex of Siberia Airlines.

In September 2010, the second runway of the airport was put into operation, the construction of which began in 1987. In 1995, construction was frozen, and again money from the federal budget was allocated only in the 2000s. On July 12, 2010, on the day of the airport's 53rd anniversary, the first technical flight from the runway-2 was performed (the airline's Boeing 767-300 aircraft took off at 21:00 local time and landed in 14 minutes), the runway was declared ready for operation, and On September 25 of the same year, the runway received the first scheduled aircraft.

In the summer of 2013, the airport management decided to modernize passenger terminals by combining them into a single complex. In September 2014, reconstruction work started, which continued until November 2015. In the course of modernization, two former terminals A and B were reconstructed into a single terminal (using the “under-one-roof” technology), which received sectors A and B for domestic and international flights, respectively. As a result, sector B received 18 check-in counters (instead of 10 in the old terminal), a large area Duty Free and 3 telescopic ladders. In the passage connecting the two sectors, there is a sculpture "To the Aviators of Siberia".

Plans

The airport development program until 2025 includes:

  • Expansion of the existing and construction of a second cargo terminal;
  • Reconstruction of the runway-1 with a complete replacement of the coating (due to deterioration);
  • Increase in the number of taxiways;
  • Further modernization of the airfield infrastructure.

In April 2018, Novosibirsk was officially declared the venue for the 2023 World Youth Hockey Championship. In this regard, the government Novosibirsk region set the task for Tolmachevo airport to increase the area of the terminal complex and create conditions for a minimum passenger traffic of 10 million people / year.

According to statistical estimates, by 2020 the passenger traffic is expected to grow to 6 million people.
