Naturally, we will start from - when on the island best weather- the rainy season, when almost every beach is dangerous and there are not so many places for comfortable swimming on the island, we will not consider!

So, the TOP 7 most dangerous beaches of Phuket in the high season according to our version!

Nai Yang Beach, located in the northwest of Phuket Island and occupies 4 kilometers of land, fell into this category due to the fact that periodically: from September to October, dangerous jellyfish - physalias appear on it. Which, when interacting with the human body, can cause severe burns in the second, which can immobilize some parts of the body, and even lead to death.

Naithon Beach, located in the northwest of the island, is 1 kilometer long. Like Nai Yang, he was included in this list due to the periodic appearance of jellyfish. In general, the beaches of the northern part of the island are most susceptible to their appearance, but these two are most often.

Karon Beach, located in the southwest of Phuket, whose distance is 3.4 kilometers, was included in this list due to the presence of “reverse currents”, which from year to year, despite warnings from rescuers, claim the lives of inattentive or uninformed tourists.

Next is the Kata beach, it is also located in the south-west of the island and takes a distance of 1.5 kilometers. It is also one of the most popular beaches on the island and has countercurrents - watch out!

Kata Noi Beach follows Kata Beach. It covers a distance of 710 meters and is located in the southwest of Phuket. Here you also need to be careful with the “reverse currents” while enjoying your beach holiday!

The next beach is Nai Harn, which is located in the south of the island and covers a distance of 800 meters. A very beautiful and treacherous beach. Because of the “reverse currents” on it, perhaps, most of all tourists, as well as groups of tourists, the islands suffer. It happens that the current carries away several people at once (once, it was a group of 6 children).

On this beach, you need to swim in the sea very carefully and only in those places where the swimming area is marked with flags and you will be under the supervision of lifeguards!

We conclude our review on one of the most popular beaches in Phuket - Patong Beach, which is located in the west of Phuket and occupies 3.5 kilometers of land. Here you need to be careful with aquabikes and other equipment for entertainment, which are abundant here. As for the aquabikes, then, every year, tourists here suffer from the fact that aquabikes collide with them causing severe damage, including death. Also, many are crippled at the moment of falling from the aquabike, having lost control! - Be extremely attentive!

The most dangerous beaches in Phuket: review

He who is forewarned is armed, as the well-known saying goes. Observe the basic safety rules while relaxing on the beaches of Thailand and be attentive to yourself and those around you - and we told you about the most dangerous beaches on Phuket!

Reverse flows: what it is and how to behave

On the beach of Kata Noi, Nai Harn, Karon, Kata in Phuket, there are reverse currents or rip currents! Be very careful when swimming in the sea when you see a reverse flow billboard on the beach!

Their essence is such that you will be imperceptibly carried away from the coast by a “corridor” of water, which is located between two water “vortices”.

When you realize that you have been carried far enough from the coast, you will try to get back. At this point, most people make a major mistake! They try to resist the constant current from the coast and waste their strength.

If you are caught in reverse flow, You need:

    calm down

    do not panic

do not waste a lot of energy

try to attract attention with a cry for help

try to see where there are less water vortices (left or right)

having determined in which direction the water eddies are smaller, you should start to swim parallel to the bank to the left or right side. Do not swim straight to the shore!

Beaches of Phuket Island, Thailand

All beaches of Phuket Island are located on the western side, facing open sea, side of the island.

The length of the most popular beaches in Phuket is significant, amounting to many kilometers.

Small secluded beaches for Phuket are also not uncommon, and there are about two dozen such beaches on the island.

The sand on the beaches of Phuket is yellowish, perfectly white coral sand, for which they are so famous and, for the beaches of Phuket, is a rarity.

The best beaches in Phuket. What beaches are worth visiting in Phuket.

Which beach in Phuket is the best? There have always been many different answers to this question, and opinions about this have changed a lot over the long history of tourism on the island.

In the distant 80s of the last century, when the tourism industry on the island of Phuket was still making its first steps, it was considered the best beach on the island. And he was considered them quite deserved.

The sand on Patong Beach is fine and white, the beach itself is wide and long, the sea next to the beach is quiet and calm, and the beach is located in a vast and surprisingly beautiful bay.

As a result, there was no limit to the joy of tourists who had the good fortune to visit Patong in the 80s and 90s of the last century, however, at the turn of the millennium, the intensity of positive emotions greatly diminished.

The tourist village opposite Patong Beach has grown to the size of a real city, with skyscrapers, traffic jams, and monstrous crowds. And already in the early 2000s, the positioning of Patong as the best beach on the island began to be considered bad manners.

And since the first place is never vacant, the vacant title of the best beach in Phuket was divided between two beaches located on the periphery of the island, and. Compared to Patong Beach, both of these beaches are noticeable smaller, however, this is what was perceived by tourists as their plus.

The small bays in which these beaches are located have always been very beautiful, the views from the beaches to the nearby wooded hills were pleasing to the eye, and the light turquoise color of the water, in the sea opposite the beaches, was just as pleasing to the eye.

This is how the situation looked ten years ago, but since then a lot has changed.

The pretty bays that sheltered the beaches of Surin and Kata Noi are lined with hotels, shops and restaurants, and the beaches themselves are crowded with dense rows of sun loungers. The number of tourists on these beaches has also reached a critical size, and the title of the best beach on the island is again vacant.

At the moment, the situation looks like this: rightfully the best beaches in Phuket can be called either located in the extreme southern part of the island, or located in the north. The main feature of all the beaches just listed, which allow them to claim such a high title, is the fact that the number of tourists on these beaches is only hundreds, and not many thousands, as on the more famous beaches of the island.

Concluding this topic, one cannot but say that all these lists of the best beaches are quite subjective, and you should go around all the beaches of the island yourself, and decide for yourself which beach suits you best and which beach you like the most.

There is a change from north-east winds to south-west. They bring high waves from the ocean, making bathing not only uncomfortable, but also dangerous.

In the low season, the question of which beach in Phuket has fewer waves remains the most relevant. The entire west coast is affected to varying degrees by monsoons. Calm, relatively calm on the eastern side of the island. But the local beaches are not suitable for swimming. The rating of the quietest beaches in Phuket will help you choose the best place for a comfortable stay.

Three Trang

Clean, well-groomed, unknown to many tourists, it is hidden from the winds in the depths of the bay, just south of Patong. Coastal zone spacious, planted with many shady trees. There are waves here, but they are much lower than on the neighboring beaches. The place is quite noisy. Discos are held here on weekends. The main disadvantage of trips to Tri Trang is the strong low tide.

Layan Beach

Thais and foreigners who live on the island mostly rest in this picturesque place. It is located at the northern tip of Bang Tao. It is protected from winds and high waves by the island of Ko Kala. A lot of greenery and conifers grow along the coast. A beach club and restaurant have been built at the southern end. They also offer kayak rental.

Ao sen

Located in the southwest of Phuket, between Kata Noi and Nai Harn. He was chosen locals and seasoned tourists. Bungalows for rent in the beach area, there is a restaurant, paid shower and toilet. There is an asphalt parking along the road to the sea.

Trees are planted here, under which it is easy to hide from the midday sun. There are many stones in the coastal area and at the bottom of the sea. Amateurs come with their masks, as there is no point of sale or rental here. For Christmas, New Year, local holidays colorful parties are held here.

Friendship

A well-known hangout spot in the southeast of Phuket among locals is located between Chalong Pier and Rawai Beach. A hotel, restaurants, night bars are built here. From the coast, a wonderful view opens up to the islands of Coral and Ko Lon.

There are rarely waves at sea, but due to strong tides, the water sometimes recedes by almost a kilometer. The coastal zone and the bottom are a mixture of pebbles and sand, the water is not distinguished by its purity and transparency. The bay serves as a starting point for sea cruises.

Nai Yang

The road to this famous beach takes no more than 10 minutes drive from the airport. Together with Mai Khao and Nai Ton, Nai Yang is part of national park... This is one of the quietest beaches in Phuket without high waves. The coast is protected from storms by a coral reef, which is located a kilometer from the coast. The place is ideal for secluded relaxation, diving, snorkeling. There are picnic areas and cafes on the beach.

Yanui

Situated on south west coast, between Nai Harn from the north and Cape Promthep from the south. Yanui is surrounded by rocks and therefore there are no high waves on this Phuket beach. A hotel is built 5 minutes walk from the sea. There is a cafe on the coast, there is a changing room and a toilet.

Visible from the shore picturesque island, the sea is calm and crystal clear. Yanui is crowded during the season. There are many stones on the coast and at the bottom. For swimming, snorkeling and diving, the left side of the beach is more suitable. It is less rocky.

Cape Panwa

Tranquil beaches in Phuket without waves are located on the southeastern side of the island. Thanks to its favorable location, Cape Panwa is protected from monsoons. The infrastructure in these areas is poorly developed. Only a few hotels with their own coastal zone have been built on the cape.

Ao Yong

Not far from Cape Panwa there are two beaches connected by an isthmus. Little Ao Yong Noi is next to the road and shrimp farm. It is significantly inferior in beauty to neighboring Ao Yon. It is more difficult to find, so there are few tourists here.

The gently sloping bottom, the absence of storms even during the height of the monsoon season, makes this beach without waves the best in the southern part of Phuket. There are no hotels, only bungalows for rent. Eateries and bars are open on the coast. Nearby there is a yacht club and a pearl farm.

Nai Harn

This beautiful and clean place can be safely called Phuket's quietest beach. It is located in the south of the island, between Ao Sen and Yanui, protected by a protruding promontory. The disadvantages of staying here are strong ebb tides and powerful underwater currents. The safest is the southern tip.

For tourists arriving on the island with children, several factors are important: the cleanliness of the beach and water, shallow bottom, gentle, easy entry into the water. There are several beaches in Phuket that meet the requirements of the parents.

Kata Beach ranks among the three best beaches in Phuket. There are no nightclubs or bars, but there is everything you need for a measured rest. The coast is flat, ebb and flow are rare, stones and vegetation are few, almost completely calm. Children frolic in the shallow waters while their parents sunbathe on the shore.

Another family option is Nai Harn Beach, a favorite destination for Thais themselves, who come here for picnics. There are few bars, which means it's quiet in the evenings. The descent into the water is smooth, in the southern part of the beach there is a warm current under water, there are practically no waves, so there are always a lot of children here.

Bang Tao Beach, which stretches for 7 km, has a relaxed, serene atmosphere. Entry into the water is smooth, after 10 meters it becomes deep. The bottom is relatively flat, there are no stones, so the children can be safely released. During low tide, babies splash in shallow water.

A very long and gentle entrance to the water is in the southern part of the secluded Nai Yang beach, which is located not far from the airport (you can only get there by taxi). During a strong low tide, you may not reach the depth. All infrastructure is concentrated in the central part of Nai Yang Beach.

If you understand rest with children in Phuket a little more broadly, then Mai Khao is suitable: not the beach itself, because the entry into the water is abrupt, but the Splash Jungle water park located on it, the only one on the island. It has a play area for kids and a dozen slides and attractions. True, it is difficult to get to it.

Secluded, quiet beaches of Phuket

Finally, let's move on to contemplative tourists who are ready to enjoy the wondrous Thai nature, who are cool to bars and cocktails and prefer the silence to the buzzing beach party.

The phrase "paradise beach" is about Freedom, clean, not crowded and as isolated as possible. Palm jungle on the outskirts of the coast, white fine sand, clear water and no hustle - the perfect picture for lovers, for example.

The tiny beach of Ao San is no longer a secret place, but few people get to it, which means it is very calm here. True, it also happens that it is hammered, but this is rather an exception.

Banana Beach was wild, untouched and completely lost a few years ago, but in recent years it has been actively acquiring infrastructure, and it is unlikely that it will be possible to lie down alone.

Yanui Beach, nestled in the southern part of the island, is considered to be secluded and not at all "tourist" in the most general sense. It is only 100 meters long, but incredibly beautiful. People come here to watch the sunsets.

  • It is very easy to settle down on the beach: all hotels on the Phuket beach are collected in one list.

Which of the beaches in Phuket is considered the best? The beaches on this island are quite diverse, and there are a lot of them. Most likely, each traveler will have to choose the best one for themselves. And if it turns out that a visit to the beach meets your expectations, then the rest on the island will leave the best impressions.

Waves in Phuket

One of the important factors when choosing nai better place for a holiday in Phuket, waves are considered. Since April, the western monsoons begin to blow on the island, due to which waves are constantly formed. The maximum excitement occurs during the period from June to August, so that even swimming on some of the beaches becomes dangerous or simply impossible. It should also be noted that the constantly blowing wind and the movement of waves drive and throw mud and various debris ashore, which makes the appearance of the beaches very far from the ideal advertised "Bounty". Taking into account that most of the beaches of Phuket are located on the western part of the coast of the island, those travelers who prefer the swimming-recumbent option of spending their holidays more often free the coast for those who prefer leisure surfers. Only a few of the beaches offer safe floundering on the water at this time. Already starting in October, the waves subside, and in November the flow of tourists begins - the high season.

The ebb and flow of Phuket

However, not only waves should be taken into account when choosing a vacation, but also big influence on the beaches of the ebb and flow. Agree, it is rather unpleasant to be on the coast, from which during low tide the sea ran a hundred meters from its former place, leaving mountains of algae, debris on the territory freed from water, exposing ugly gray stones and rocks. This problem mainly concerns those beaches, the bottom of which is shallow, gently sinking under the water. In places where great depth and a sharp cliff begins almost near the coast, such problems do not exist. So you should plan your rest during the ebb and flow during the day in such a way that the ebb during your stay falls in the evening or at night, so that you can enjoy swimming during the day.

Patong Beach (Patong Beach, Thai Haad Patong)

Literally from Thai, Patong is translated as "banana forest". It is the most crowded with hotels, popular, with a developed infrastructure. tourist place.

Patong is located 10 kilometers north-west of Phuket city, it is at a distance of 22 kilometers from the airport, which is located on the west coast. Patong Beach is 4 kilometers long.

This is the place for those looking to relax while being in the middle of fun and entertainment. All conditions for tourists have been created here, because this place has won popularity for a reason. Guests in Patong are greeted by hotels and shops, nightclubs and diving centers, of which there are many. Some people think that Patong is like Pattaya. Here, as in Pattaya, which is considered the capital of sex tourism, there are adult entertainment for all tastes: go-go bars, gay bars, massage parlors, sex clubs, transvestite shows. The Patong area and the long beach itself are surrounded by the most real tropical jungle, which is worth a walk.

Another obvious advantage of accommodation in Patong is that it is - main center tourism, so that all roads lead exactly here. If you stay here, during the daytime you can get to the other beach of the island of your choice, and in the evening return here to go for nightlife and entertainment at your hotel.

The result of this popularity is not very clear waters and beaches. If you are interested in more secluded rest and the neatness of the beaches, then you should choose any other beach on the island.

Those tourists who have only once visited Patong and ended up there at the wrong time claim that this is not a beach, but just a dump, but in reality everything is far from so bad. In Patong, the December-March season is pretty decent. Especially when you consider that the beach here is quite large, and has enough differences throughout its four kilometers, in addition, at different times in different places here everything happens in different ways. In search of better conditions, you should go to northern part the beach, the one that is closer to the Kalim beach, or its southern end, although the ebb tide has a much greater influence on the southern part, in general, closer to the edges and farther from the center.

Kalim Beach

This beach is a continuation of the coast north of Patong, and neither the strip of beaches nor the tourist infrastructure is practically interrupted. The atmosphere here resembles Patong, but the beach is still a little better. In general, we can assume that Kalim seems to be just the northern part of Patong. If you wanted to stay in a hotel in Patong, and you did not have enough space, or you did not expect to go far to a good beach and were going to be in the thick of events and entertainment, then you will like it here.

Karon Beach (Karon Beach, Thai Hat Karon)

According to the results of the rating of the best beaches in the world in 2008, Karon was in eighth place. This beach is located immediately behind Patong, 27 kilometers south of it. It is Phuket's second most popular tourist destination and also the second largest. local beach with a total length of three kilometers. Karon Beach is divided into two separate beaches: Karon Beach ( big beach) and Karon Noi Beach (small beach).

The local nightlife, unlike Patong, is quieter, but it is also present. Here it is quite interesting to occupy yourself in the evening, but the proposed rest is more decent. If you are looking for a more tempting nightlife, then Patong can be easily reached. In all other respects, this resting place is not much inferior to Patong - the same many shops, restaurants, hotels, and in some ways even surpasses it, for example, local beaches are equipped with basketball nets, while Patong does not. The water on Karon is clearer and the beaches are much cleaner. The depth is decent here, as the bottom goes down sharply. Accordingly, the state of Karon Beach is not strongly influenced by low tides. Here, in the period from April to October, there are large ocean waves caused by south-westerly winds, which is why the beach at this time is not very suitable for calm sailing, but it is of exceptional interest for surfers. The June-August period is characterized by such large waves that regular swimming can become simply dangerous. In general, with regard to waves, this place in Phuket is considered the most unfavorable, people die here quite often. The location of hotels on Karon is mainly provided not near the beaches, the buildings are separated from it by a road. Most of hotel is located on Big Karon.

This beach can be recommended for those who want to spend the maximum amount of time during their holidays on a good beach and splash in the cleanest water, but at the same time, not be too far from nightlife and other entertainment.

Kata Beach

To the Kata area, which is located on west side Island from the airport at a distance of 31 km, include Kata Noi beach and Kata Yai beach. The coastline of Kata Beach is divided into two parts, one of which is called Kata Main Beach (large Kata) and the other is Kata Noi (distant Kata). From the big Kata, the Kata Noi beach is located 500 meters to the south, separated by a small promontory. These beaches are located even further south of Patong than Karon, and are much quieter here, since there are no bars and discos working at night, no adult entertainment. It is a very quiet and peaceful place for family vacation... The area is surrounded by wild rainforest and hills that adjoin directly to the sandy beach strip.

Kata occupies a much smaller area than Patong, its length is only a few more than a kilometer, but it is calm and clean. It is protected from waves and winds by the surrounding hills. On the big Kata, the bottom goes under the water very gently, so swimming here is absolutely safe even for little ones, but at low tide it is simply unrealistic to swim here. There are fewer waves here than on the neighboring beach, but during the off-season they still happen. Near the northern end of Kata Beach, there is a small island called Koh Poo, next to which there is a reef. There is unique water for swimming, diving and snorkeling.

It is worth recommending this place for those who would like to enjoy the silence, nature, or come on vacation with children. It offers good conditions for recreation, including shops, exchange offices, restaurants. There will be no reason to send anywhere else for anything, unless you head to Patong Beach for some nightlife.

Phuket town (Phuket town, Thai Mueang Phuket)

It is not only the capital, but also the most Big City on the island. Despite the fact that the city is located on the coast, here nice beaches cannot be found. Basically, travelers do not linger in it, trying to get to the beaches as soon as possible. However, if you are in no hurry to spend time aimlessly lying on the beach, then it would be quite reasonable to stay in Phuket for a couple of days.

There are enough hotels in the city, the prices of which are the lowest of all available on the island. In local cafes and restaurants, prices are also lower than on beach resorts of this island. In addition, there are several markets and large shopping centers in the capital of the island, so shopping here will allow any tourist to have a rather exciting time. Some of the sights of the island's capital are also of interest: temples, the ancient Chinatown, the Phuket Culture Museum, a zoo, an orchid and butterfly park. In fact, it is not as boring here as it might seem at first glance.

Bang Tao (Bang Tao Beach, Thai Bang Thao)

Bang Tao, which flanks the bay in Phuket, is considered the longest on the island, with coastline has a length of about 8 kilometers. The beach is located on the west coast, 12 kilometers west of the airport.

The most expensive hotels on the island are located here. Considered the finest beaches on the island, it has the purest sand and the bay is the most beautiful place... Around the bay there is a grove with amazing casuarin trees.

Bang Thao Beach is especially popular among surfers due to the constant wind blowing here. This beach even hosts an annual international surfing competition. However, do not be afraid that there are waves here. Since the beach is very long, in its different places the situation with the waves is different: even during the period that is considered off-season here, big waves are only in the center of the beach, and closer to the edges the sea is calm.

Kamala Beach

To the north of Patong on the west coast of Phuket lies the beautiful Kamala Beach, a paradise for those who appreciate silence. This is a new and developing tourist destination. It is located 15 minutes from Patong and 16 kilometers from the airport.

Crescent Bay, which is almost 2 kilometers long, is an exceptional place for a comfortable and relaxing holiday, but at the same time, the area is located next to the renowned center of local entertainment and nightlife - Patong Beach.

Despite the fact that the beach is developing and practically new, no purchases in the neighboring settlements you won't have to travel. In recent years, they have been able to create all the infrastructure that is required for a carefree vacation, so it will only be necessary to leave this place in search of entertainment. There are shops, restaurants, cafes, massage parlors and travel agencies, but there are no wild discos and adult entertainment that Patong is famous for. There was enough transport to get to any other part of the island. Another attractive feature of this holiday destination from other areas is the absence of a road along the beach, and the first line of hotels is located almost on the beach itself.

There are ideal conditions for diving. The sea is almost always calm. Interestingly, in different places on the coast, the depth is different, so that you can always find a place, the state of which is not affected by low tides. Cleaner and generally good beaches are located in the north of the region. Southern part It is better not to choose the beach for relaxation, since here a river flows into the ocean waters, from which garbage and dirt can get into the sea.

Nai Harn Beach

This beach is not in vain considered one of the most beautiful on the island. Its location is almost the southernmost tip of the island in the bay.

It is rather diminutive in size, only slightly longer than 600 meters, very cozy, uncrowded, surrounded on all sides by pine trees. The beach is distinguished by its clear water and very shallow white sand. It is fascinating to go diving and snorkeling here, observing the most interesting underwater world.

During the rainy season (especially June-August), the area is characterized by strong waves and currents, so this is not a time for rest. the best choice... The bottom goes under the water and is not too shallow, and not too steep, and the influence of ebb tides is not too strong.

There is practically no special entertainment here on the coast, except for a few restaurants. You will not have to travel very close to Patong for entertainment. So choosing this place for rest is worth those who count on a quiet secluded vacation.

Surin Beach (Surin Beach, Thai Ao Surin)

Surin Beach is about 700 meters long, so it is small. Surin is located at a distance of 18 kilometers from the airport between Bang Tao and Kamala beaches.

This beach is very popular during high season as it is well suited for relaxation. The low season is characterized by rather large waves, and then surfers are happy to choose this place. There is a slight slope of the coast, good organization water sports and entertainment. High season is also good for snorkelling. A little further north, almost close, so that you can easily walk on foot there is another small and very cozy beach without hotels Chedi Beach (Chedi Beach).

The beach area has a well-developed and self-sufficient infrastructure. To services of tourists there are shops, restaurants, bars, car rental and massage parlors. This place is not only good for beach holiday, but also for shopping, as there are several fairly large shopping centers. In addition, guests are invited entertainment centers and discos.

Hotel prices are high and Surin is known for its expensive restaurants and luxury hotels.

Nai Thon Beach (Hat Nai Thon, Thai)

Naiton Beach is another good and quiet vacation spot on Phuket Island, located 10 kilometers away. south of the airport, and the road to it passes through the hills overgrown with jungle. The surrounding area and the beach itself belong to the lands of the Phuket National Reserve.

The pristine local beach is just perfect place for a relaxing, relaxing experience away from the crowd. Beach holidays reign here, except for which you can only visit several restaurants famous for their dishes from the freshest seafood. If you are interested in shopping or entertainment, then you will have to get out for them to other places on the island. Here, even in the high season, it is very quiet and deserted, and during the low season there is practically no one at all.

The length of Naiton is about a kilometer. The water here is very clean and the sand is fine and pleasant. The bottom slope is very small, so this beach is one of the most safe places in Phuket for families with young children, especially in the season when there are no waves (November-March).

The downside, less attractive side, is the significant low tide effect. There is a very limited number of hotels here, and you can hardly count on budget accommodation.

Nai Yang (Thai Hat Nai Yang)

Located just two kilometers from the airport, Nayyang Beach can be considered Naiton's northern twin brother.

This beach is also included in the territory of the National Reserve. The local tourist infrastructure here is rather modest, albeit sufficient. There are very few hotels, no entertainment or discos - only a few bars and restaurants. Like Naeaton, Nayyang is very sparsely populated, even during the high season. The length of the beach line is slightly more than two kilometers. The cleanliness of the beach is satisfactory, but some tourists still note that there are separate areas that local residents use to drain waste and dump garbage. So it’s impossible to say that the whole beach can always boast of a perfect view, although during the high season the cleanliness is maintained at an excellent level. If you still manage to get to a not too clean place on this beach, you just need to walk along the coast to stop where you will be met by blue transparent water and the purest sand.

It is a good idea to get to the hotel booked here from the airport even on foot, because this distance is no more than three kilometers.

Cape Panwa

Cape Panwa, also called Panwa Bay, is located south of the capital islands on the eastern coast of Phuket.

This place is an ideal haven for those who like to relax in peace and quiet. There are only a few restaurants and hotels here, practically none tourism infrastructure, shops and even exchange offices... But this place has one indisputable advantage: it is the only beach on the island where the sea is calm almost throughout the year, regardless of seasonal changes in the weather. The only thing is that the low tides on the beaches of Panwa Bay are very strong, and completely unattractive underwater rocks are exposed.

Chalong Bay

Chalong is a large bay with a pier located on east coast Phuket islands at a distance of 10 kilometers from its capital.

This place is not for swimming or beach recreation. The water is dirty here and yachts and boats are moored everywhere. The maximum you can count on is a little sunbathing next to the sea. If you are staying in one of the hotels located in the bay, you will have to use the hotel pool for swimming.

There is a well-developed tourist infrastructure: shops, shopping centers, restaurants. In local bars, among vacationers you can meet sailors from all over the world. This place is considered ideal for boat enthusiasts and yacht owners, and even regular sailing competitions are held here.

Various excursions and diving routes to the surrounding islands start from Chalong. If you aspired to this island not to lie on the beach, but to enjoy the study of the underwater world and its inhabitants, then there is simply no better place to stay overnight to explore the neighboring islets.

Mai Khao Beach

The length of this beach, located in the northern part of the island almost next to the airport, is nine kilometers. It also belongs to the Phuket National Reserve.

Mae Khao is the longest beach on the island. There is practically no tourist infrastructure here; only a few expensive hotels are scattered on the beach at a considerable distance from each other. There are not even sun loungers on the beach, and restaurants can only be found in hotels. If you are going to stay here, you will find yourself exclusively alone with a virgin the cleanest beach and by the sea.

The local beach cannot be called safe, especially in the low season. All along the coast, there are many dangerous undercurrents that can carry vacationers into the open ocean.

This place can be called excellent only for those who are looking for the most secluded and serene place, but if you get here during the low season, then most likely your rest will be held exclusively next to the hotel pool.
