And among the admirers of this mountain there is the honorary title of "crusader" - a person who, in one ascent, passed all five peaks of the Beshtaugorsky cross with such a pendulum, with the obligatory call after each to the Big Tau.

The fact that Beshtau is called a laccolithic mountain is wrong. Correct name — volcanic mountain... Moreover, the Beshtau rocks are the places where magma broke through the cracks to the outside. Over time, the residual and soft rocks weathered and formed rocks - Eagle and Goat.

IN Soviet times The mountain was actively developed: uranium reserves were found in its depths. A specially formed enterprise "Almaz" worked here in the small town of Lermontov. In the early 90s of the last century, uranium mining was stopped, the enterprise was redesigned, the uranium mines on the mountain were closed. But local and visiting diggers went underground for a long time along the cut adits, studying the mountain from the inside, until the flood of 2002 destroyed and filled most of the passages with water.

Mountain adits Beshtau

Many legends and rumors are associated with Beshtau. Especially often UFOs and even aliens are seen on the mountain or in its vicinity. For example, they recall such a case.

At the end of December 2003, on a clear day, Boris Sinitsin, a resident of Lermontov, his wife Tatyana and several friends were resting at a hot hydrogen sulfide spring on Mount Beshtau, not far from the Second Athos monastery for men. Suddenly they noticed three figures standing four hundred meters higher along the mountainside. The figures were about two meters in height, yellow, silver and blue. They stood motionless, and a faint radiance emanated from them. There are quite a few such stories about Beshtau, as well as people. Those who come to the mountain hoping to meet space guests, but experts are skeptical about such stories.

I do not believe in aliens or UFOs on Beshtau. If someone saw something, then it is most likely some kind of optical effects, or, as they say, it is necessary to use less strong drinks. As a scientist, I am more than skeptical about such rumors.

But if scientists are ironic about aliens and UFOs on Beshtau, then the obvious facts still make it possible to record the mountain as unusual. It was on Beshtau that the Second Athos Assumption Monastery was founded and erected, the blessing for the construction of which was given by John of Kronstadt himself. Consecrated in 1904, during the years of the revolution, the monastery burned down, its monks were harassed and abused, by the 40s of the last century it was completely destroyed, but now it has been rebuilt and is very popular among residents and guests of the region.

In the book about the biography of the elder Hieroschemamonk Stephen, it is said that the Second Athos Dormition Monastery on Mount Beshtau became, in the time of troubles, the only solid stronghold of Orthodoxy in the vicinity of the Caucasus Mineralnye Vody who unwaveringly held the lamp of true faith. On a plot of about a hectare, the soil never thaws, even in the hottest season.

This is partly due to the cold air that comes from the bowels of the mountain. In severe winter frosts, the wind blows from the cracks, the temperature of which is above zero, about 8 degrees. Therefore, the Razvalka slope in this place turns green with grass in winter, and some fruits ripen on it, cherry plum bushes bear fruit.

Researchers have tried to figure out the reason for this phenomenon. There are many voids in the depths of the Wreck, and for some reason they are filled with cold air. In summer, it goes out through the cracks, and warm air enters its place. There is a gradual circulation. But until the end, the secret of the breathing of the Sleeping Lion remains unrevealed. There are similar natural refrigerators, islands of permafrost - and in others southern edges: in Romania, in Italian Lombardy, in the Pamir Gorno Badakhshan, in the Chinese province of Liaoning.

There are plenty of remarkable places in the North Caucasus besides Razvalka. But in the last two decades of the 20th century, new messages have often come from here about mysterious and unknown phenomena. Not only over the giant Elbrus, but also over the smaller mountains - Beshtau, Mashuk, Razvalka, these UFOs, which seem to have already set the teeth on edge, and nevertheless mysterious and intriguing, began to be observed more and more often.

In August, in the area of ​​Mount Beshtau, two identical circular flat objects were observed. Even in the chronicles of the Second Athos male monastery the "heavenly lights" and "battles of the heavenly armies" observed by monks in the Beshtau region were mentioned. With the creation of the Almaz enterprise near the town of Lermontov in Soviet times, which was engaged in the extraction of uranium, visits of unidentified objects to Mount Beshtau became more frequent. To intercept objects, fighters repeatedly rose from Mozdok, but to no avail.

Until now, it remains a mystery what exactly Beshtau attracts aliens. In addition to the uranium mining enterprise, there are two powerful energy faults in the area of ​​the mountain. One is of the receiving type and the other is of the transmitting type. The receiving rift acts negatively on people, absorbing energy. Therefore, those who find themselves on the northern slope immediately feel unreasonable anxiety and a rapid decline in strength. Once on the southwestern slope, in the area where the buildings of the monastery are located, people feel an extraordinary surge of vital energy.

In August 1992, eyewitnesses observed two unidentified objects near the mountain at once. They appeared from different sides. One, emitting a bluish light, flew in from the west, and the second, glowing green, appeared from the south. In complete silence, the objects slowly approached each other at an altitude of about four kilometers. And they stopped at a distance of about five kilometers.

One of the UFOs released a red sphere. And these spheres flew to the second object. Before she had time to fly even a quarter of the distance, a white ray burst out of the second object. When the beam hits the sphere, it sharply increased in size, from red to white. A loud bang was heard to the people watching the development of events, and the sphere fell to the ground, almost at the feet of one of the eyewitnesses. Later, at the site of the fall, they found a slag-like mass that did not have time to cool, having a greenish tint. Whether this was an exchange of blows remains unclear, but both targets were unharmed.

The case received wide publicity, and Pyatigorsk ufologist Stanislav Donets said that one of the permanent bases of aliens is located on Mount Beshtau. Whether it really is or not is unclear, but aliens continue to appear.

In January 2012, a guy and a girl, walking in the vicinity of Lermontov, at about nine o'clock in the evening, noticed a large luminous cloud above the mountain, which began to move directly towards them, but then hovered over the left slope of the mountain. The girl felt unwell and vomited.

On July 22, 2012, while at home, a local resident Klavdia and her relatives noticed two UFOs in the sky, which quickly retreated towards Kislovodsk, glowing with a red light.

August 10, 2012 resident North Caucasus named Evgeny, at about 21.40 Moscow time, observed an object flying in the sky over Zheleznovodsk. The UFO was shaped like a ball, glowing dimly in the dark. Flying at a constant speed, the object slowed down and, diving to the slope of Razvalka Mountain, disappeared from sight. An eyewitness got the impression that the UFO flew into the mountain.

Sergei Alexandrenko, a member of several expeditions to Beshtau, found out that in addition to the security units of the KGB of the USSR, in Soviet times, employees of the 18th KGB department were at the Almaz enterprise. This department was engaged in the study of anomalous phenomena.

During the next expedition, one of its participants suddenly got up and, being in some kind of trance, went towards the forest. Trying to find out the reason for Aleksandrenko's departure, she confusedly explained that they "want to take her with them." The girl was returned to the camp by force, and a few minutes later a spherical UFO with a reddish shade appeared over the forest.

Taking into account the numerous eyewitness accounts, we can conclude that the area of ​​Mount Beshtau really attracts unidentified objects. Thus, this mountain can well be attributed to the places where the frequent occurrence of UFOs is most likely.

The zones of the North Caucasus are considered anomalous, where phenomena that are inexplicable from the point of view of modern science occur. In a number of places (neighboring regions) there are anti-slopes (Kabardino-Balkaria), where the force of gravity seems to work in the opposite direction, forcing water to flow up the slope. In several caves of Gelendzhik, strange metamorphoses occur with people, hormonal changes in the body (euphoria, excitement) are almost instantly observed. In our case, the anomalous zone near Beshtau is rather paranormal.

The strangeness of human behavior in this sector near Maly Tau is described extremely poorly, mainly information was collected orally. Twice the employees of KMV-Tourism checked the impact of the anomalous zone on themselves, fundamentally at different times of the year (winter and summer). And twice with observers-testers there were similar inexplicable phenomena.

In the past few years, as the country has developed instant notifications of various incidents on social networks, there have been several cases of disappeared people. With enviable regularity, once every 1-3 years, people were lost here. Rather, they were found (2 out of 3 recorded deaths - a boy from an orienteering club and a woman who took a walk died, getting lost) in completely different places, but their path passed through this "black sector". Another person of retirement age (a man) is still listed as missing.

The anomalous zone is located on Beshtau immediately behind the ring road on the site, to the right of the Eagle Rocks. The phenomenon of anomalous place Beshtau, hypothesis

There are places in the world where anomalous phenomena, centuries later, had a completely scientific explanation. For example, with a certain vibration sea ​​waves in the open sea in a number of places on the planet, people may experience visual hallucinations (it is characteristic that these are the so-called “black spots” where they see supposedly monsters), and their health may deteriorate sharply. Infrasound resonating in some caves, reflected from the walls many times, can cause, on the contrary, quite pleasant sensations (Gelendzhik caves). But here, at the foot of Beshtau, the anomalous zone is still waiting for its scientific research.

Such patterns are unlikely to belong to buildings for domestic purposes. Maybe even this part has always attracted peoples and ethnic groups. The hypothesis of light and sound effects is very logical: after all, the activity of the anomaly is noted (most clearly) between 16:00 and twilight. Perhaps part of the sunlight, scattering in the crowns of trees, creates a kind of visual ephemeral illusion, which our brain interprets in its own way, misleading us. What is typical for the anomalous zone: you never hear birds here, although on both sides of 300 meters you can always hear and see tits, woodpeckers, blackbirds or even a woodcock.

You should not go to this place without taking a tourist's emergency kit with you: from a compass to a navigator, from a flashlight to matches. After all, even very experienced people with the onset of dusk here lost their spatial orientation, and went somewhere to Zheleznovodsk, several kilometers away. This term is used to designate massive and downward-directed mountain slopes, in gorges, in valleys, accumulations of a homogeneous group of rocks, without a clear sign of the presence of force that moved the stones. These clusters are called a river for a clear boundary line along the edges, like those of flowing rivers. In most cases, stone rivers are explained by the usual rockfalls characteristic of mountainous areas in Russia. There are, however, places where mountain rivers of such power have definitely not been in history, and one of these places is Mount Beshtau.

Amazing nearby. For decades, we can pass by the screaming evidence of the events of antiquity, ignoring the obvious inconsistencies and paradoxes. Stone rivers and streams Beshtau. Shaggy height

So, the southeastern slope, Lokhmatka, (latitude - 44 ° 5′60 ″ N - 44.099955, longitude 43 ° 0′36 ″ E - 43.009977), several groups of rock formations were investigated and noticeable traces of work on strengthening, about which we wrote in the article about earlier. To begin with, let's try to imagine an exceptionally spontaneous rockfall that created the miracle of a stone river. If we imagine that the rock mass above the slope was destroyed by erosion, then the question immediately arises about the qualitative identity of the stones in the stream.

Why are they almost the same shape geometrically, flat? Stone placers are scattered here in a strange way, precisely according to their morphological characteristics. Agree that it is strange to observe two stone rivers 20-30 meters apart, from the same group of rocks, but with completely different geometric shapes. Relative to the first stream, the second is located slightly lower along the slope.

The stone stream already consists of larger stones, even two or three times larger than those on top, and geometrically they already differ dramatically. The second group is dominated by cubic and polygonal shapes. Usually, with a rockfall, a heap of rounded minerals rolls especially far, but here this is practically impossible. The collapse of the rock due to destruction would carry the stones down the slope evenly.

Particularly large stones, with a sufficiently large base area, could not slide down the slope lower than smaller debris. But these are only hypotheses, the last word for geologists and the Russian Geographical Society, which one day will create a complete historical picture of secrets here side by side with no less interesting structures, probably.

The picture, which is maximally identical to the relief of a natural mountain river, unfolds away from a stone stream and a heap of flat debris. Here, the characteristic regularity of the distribution of rock under the influence of water is already obvious, when large boulders are carried to the coast, and the smaller rock is concentrated in the middle.


But here, too, there is a paradox: for a mountain stream of such intensity and strength (speed) of the current on Beshtau, there are no and never have been suitable conditions. There is no sufficient height, all-season melting of glaciers is impossible, which are also absent here and have never been observed. It remains only to guess what nature itself (is it nature?) Wanted to say with this riddle.

Another stone river Beshtau, the most southern in relation to the Lokhmatka stream group. Here the contour of the river with gentle banks is already clearly outlined, and again the mystery: for some reason the stones are concentrated in the stream, although there are no obstacles on the sides that prevented the pile from scattering in all directions. There are no limiting boulders, there is no certain cut of the hypothetical shore that would prevent the flow of stones from rolling in all directions from the center.


And here, as the brightest clue, a group of stones in the form of a riverbed a little higher. Pay attention to the dimensions: this is clearly a hand-assembled mass of stones of a certain shape (almost no flat ones). What it says: the stones were collected for the construction of some kind of fortification, a wall. It is not just that, neither higher nor lower, there is no large or small breed, the principled selection and grouping in one place is clearly visible.


Nearby there is a rock, 5-8 meters high, at the very base of which there are no such fragments. Thus, we can conclude that this pile was either collected during the preparation for the construction of some object in antiquity, or it is the real ruins of a wall or tower that stood here.

For comparison: in the place of a real rockfall from the side of Mount Ostrenkaya, a few kilometers to the north, there is not even an approximate picture of the talus. Despite the fact that there is still the same limestone, all the same small rocks (there are even high steep walls, a climbing vertical).

Someday, years later, after serious analytical and research work on these objects by the scientific world, we will learn the secret of Mount Beshtau. And now we just have to admire these evidences of archaism and antiquity, and leave these wonderful photographs as a keepsake.
