Kungsleden or "Royal Trail" is a legendary 440 km trail for summer hiking and winter skiing a hundred miles above the Arctic Circle. The trail winds its way from Abisko in the north to Hemavan in the south, and runs through the most picturesque places in the Arctic landscape of Sweden through one of the largest remaining natural reserves in Europe - birch forests, open tundra and large glaciers, capturing the high alpine regions and Kebnekaise, the highest mountain peak Sweden (2111 meters).
